Had the two men requested a birthday cake or celebrating a winning lottery ticket or graduating from college, he'd have made the cake. He refused to participate in creating a wedding cake per his sincerely held religious beliefs. The state infringed on his Constitutional right to refrain from expressive and symbolic speech.
