Maybe in Liberal/Progressive (communist) New England, and left coast. Not anywhere else. Gun control legislation, enacted, or proposed has ended the political career of many politicians. It is political suicide in the U.S. Citizens don't want to be disarmed, and easier prey for violent criminals. The police get their AFTER the crime, remember?

And where do gangbangers get their guns from? They don't legally purchase guns directly from firearm manufacturers. So how does every gang member in the nation have access to a gun?

They get them from people like you. Through some combination of theft, straw purchases and second hand sales. Law abiding gun owners are a huge part of this problem so long as you have access to guns they will have access to guns.

Then we have the issue of spree shooters.....

That's why you buy 5 guns and a big roll of duct-tape.

I guess this will paint them as a reasonable organization, besides they are trying to get their nutty legislation passed.

Do you really think a POS who planned to murder hundreds of people would be afraid of breaking a couple of laws?
Who knows but passed on the fact he only used legal guns, legal modifications, legal magazines etc. it is simple to say that without those legal items he would not have been able to kill all of those people.

But the point remains we limit what you can bring on a plane, we limit who can enter our country, etc all to prevent mass murder and terrorism but when it comes to guns we suddenly throw up our hands and say nothing came be done? That literally makes no sense.

New England is where the revolution started. It will begin here and disarm the entire nation of guns. It is mere fear mongering to try to stop the only solution to the slaughter occurring now. Criminals will always be with us, that is why we have laws, prisons, and police. We do not have to arm them with assault weapons. The police do a great job, until they also get shot by guns.

Why is it so hard for the U.S. to be different in policy from other countries around the world? So much so, that we now must adopt, their policies on, just about everything or do we think we see greener pastures?

What comes out of Kellyanne Conway’s mouth should never be considered factual, she has her own set of facts from her world. The GOP fought the ATF for the last 8 years and blocked the appointment of an admistrator, cut their staff. Besides as stated in your article it’s not clear they had the authority.

As a gun owner, I agree....useless range toys. I have no need for them even at the range, the gun community generally has a low opinion of them. One must remember the maniac had to incorporate not only the bumpstock, but other elements just to make them effective - high capacity mags, a tripod, optics, maybe muzzle brakes, and multiple weapons because they jam and malfunction like crazy.
In the end such restriction won't make an impact, but hey if useless legislation will make people happy OK then. My only concern is that they start there and go into other restrictions - OK we eliminated the bump stock now we eliminate high capacity mags, then tripods, then optics, etc.
