Trump campaigned on stirring up his racist base. Lots of talk about banning Muslims.
At the Democratic convention, the Kahns explained that their Muslim son was a loyal American who gave his life for his country.
Mr. Kahn was not attacking Trump. He and his wife were attacking his racist anti-Muslim message.
I realize that as his campaign manager, for however brief a time, it made perfect sense to encourage Trump to attack these Gold Star parents. I'm sure his racist base was delighted.
It was still a despicable thing to do.
He should be ashamed of himself, but I doubt he is.
Doesn't matter how many times you repeat yourself and I realize you will ad nauseum, but Trump attacked because he was attacked first.
Trump has presented no proof whatsoever and Kelly did not disagree that Trump told Mrs. Johnson that her husband knew what he signed up for.
If you have proof Trump did not say this unfortunate remark, now would be the time to present it.
Trump never said he did or did not say that her husband knew what he signed up for. What he said was that the Congresswoman totally fabricated what he said. I'm sure he means she took things out of context, therefore distorting what was said.
The part quoted is meaningless without what came before and after. Unless you just choose to engage in faux outrage or its your job to stir it up.

There is NO proof of what he said, as of now, from either side.
Is there proof that he disrespected her, evidently, she said he did. But there is ZERO proof of what he stated, zero....
Maybe you can provide the proof he stated: "your husband knew what he was signing up for" if you have that proof you have the winning lottery ticket...
The Congress woman who made a fuss started the politicizing of this situation. She was emotional because she knew the young man and his family and should have given herself a day or two to regroup. I'm not sure publicly shaming the President for his inability to consolte the woman was the right thing for the family of the fallen soldier or for all of us. But it happened.
Once it did -- we needed the adults in the room to take over.
The White House should have issued a statement without attacking anybody. It would have been okay to say the intent was to console not cause more grief. & just leave it -- shut the door on it -- as best they could.
Having Kelly come out two days later and respond does drag it out further and opens the administration to more criticism.
It's sad.
I disagree. I think that Kelly had enough of this constant spinning of the truth and every movement of the President, Melania and the White House staff being scrutinized. It is constant......everything is turned into a negative by the people who still cannot accept that President Trump was elected. This was a matter which touched the inner core of Kelly, and I get the strong feeling this was his doing. This was a very private matter regarding his son's death, and he came out and spoke about it. You can see the emotion on his face and in his voice. This was a genuine reaching out by our President. I got the message that enough is enough.
A widow who lost her husband in service last April and received a call from President Trump came out today and could not say enough about her call from President Trump. It was a very positive and welcoming moment. She was even invited to the White House. She recorded the conversation and it meant a lot to her.
I heard all of Kelly's talk. Later in the day, I saw it on the news. It was edited and gave a very different impression of what he said and where it was coming from. But again that is typical of how the media spins it to distort the truth.
As to no one treating women with more respect than Trump, who did you hear that from? Trump?
Women who know and have worked for Mr. Trump for many, many years. That's who, and I believe i said that in my post.

Those are lies and you know it. Every one has been discredited. They were opportunists. Women who know Trump personally have said he is a gentleman around women. If you want to know who the man is, look at his children. That tells you everything you need to know.
"Locker room talk" is braggadocio. Are you going to tell us you are some kind of Saint? Never uttered a dirty word? When around other men (guys ...or aren't you a guy?). You probably wouldn't have wanted to be around me and my shipmates when I was in the Navy. You would have heard words that (apparently) you've never heard before. And, by the way, I've had women tell me they've heard worse when alone around women. So, you can take your halo off, because I suspect your not as innocent as you seem to want us to believe. Besides, bragging is one thing. Actions are another. Donald Trump is no Bill Clinton. I'll bet you NEVER spoke a word against that creep! And his wife mocked his victims!

Believe me when I tell you that there are others who treat women with more respect than Trump.
Where did you hear all that garbage from, Rachel Madcow? Morning Joke? Anderson Cooper (pooper) and his mistress, Mika (the home wrecker).
And again ...what about Bill Clinton? Has sex with an intern right in the White House. What a scum bag! Then there was Ted Kennedy! He had presidential aspirations once. He was a predator too.
I don't think you have any business criticizing Trump for anything, when you support people like Clinton, Obama and the Democrats, some of whom are total sleaze bags. Anthony Weiner? I don't care if you don't like his policies, but your ad hominem attacks are misplaced. Look in the mirror.
My comments are entirely my own. I don't get the daily "talking points" like you do.
