That's your premise. Here's mine and the majority of Americans:
Children should not BE PUNISHED for their parents law breaking.
No, they shouldn't be. But sadly, many are. Should we allow murderers to stay out of prison because they have children that will be put in foster care if they are?
And returning with their parents is hardly punishment, right? I mean, all we've heard these last few weeks is how those countries aren't actual s#@#holes. So returning to those countries can't be considered punishment.
After all the investment and money went into their education, upbringing etc, I believe Congress should come up with a legal mechanism for these to go through a legal process to become a citizen or a legal resident.
Immigration laws have to be passed by Congress, not written by executive order unless no one cares if they are changed and new orders given with each succeeding President. That’s what happens in a banana republic.
Don't be thinking most Trump voters are some heartless morons. we know the reality.
Let’s see if the moderates on both sides can come up with a bipartisan plan that addresses most Americans’ concerns by legalizing the status of many in America who have been staying and working illegally for years while also addressing border security and adopting some of the better aspects of the Canadian and Australian immigration systems.
Regarding your pink bold, No, not buying it.
Rescinding the DACA program will cause devastating harm to all currently protected by the program, but will not have a significant economic impact. Our economy is fiercely resilient as well as broad enough to weather the gradual loss of a combination of 800,000 students and early stage employees. Shrouding the discussion of DACA reversal as an economic rather than a human issue does great disservice to those affected.
They already have. They should go through the same expense and time that every other person wanting to become a citizen does. They aren't special. In fact, they're criminals. As are their parents.
As for your plan to allow them to stay if they've worked here illegally, I'm all for it. AFTER they pay back every penny of tax money they stole from us, or served their prison time for stealing an SS #.
Why would they even think to do that. They grew up as Americans. But you want them to go to a country they have no idea about. That's just cruel and our country is better than that.
Weren't they the ones protesting at schools, waving the Mexican flag, shouting that this is their country?
Dreamers are thiefs. They came into this country illegally - broke the law - and now demand that they get what they want. Cutting the line in front of many qualified people trying to do it the right way. We cannot reward them.
It may not be strictly their fault but there are many legal concepts that hold people responsible for things that are not strictly their fault.
There is a legal immigration system and they are perfectly welcome to go though that.
I think you and the OP actually agree. It's hard to tell with all the speed typos, but that's how I'm translating it.

Yes they were. They are the ones that shouted down Pelosi (their biggest advocate) like spoiled children.
They are the ones making demands of us and waving signs that say "NO DACA NO PEACE"
Now, a pathway to citizenship, more than Obama ever offered, and they're still not happy!!!
One dreamer had the audacity to say that "she is staying in this FK'd up country to fix it"...WTH?
FK them and the parents that put them in this position. Send them all back!
They should be making the country they prefer (the country they left) better, instead of telling us how bad this country is... you know, the one they want to stay in.
Does anyone else wonder why out of the estimated 1.8 million Dreamers, only 800,000 applied for DACA? Could it be that the majority want to stay under the radar and have no interest in becoming legal? Are they trying to avoid paying taxes or maybe have a criminal record?
Secondly, what makes anyone think that now, 1.8 million will apply to be legal and eventually become citizens when they've shown no interest in doing so in the past under Obama's program?
Yup. Because in spite of your spewing this fantasy image of illegals, in order to support themselves they've either had to work under the table, thereby not pay taxes. Or they're working under a stolen identity.
Pick one, because it has to be one or the other. And when american citizens are jailed for failing to pay taxes, or stealing someone's identity, the criminals that have snuck in here should go to jail as well.
Exactly and they continued to stay in the country illegally after turning 18. So who believes the "Dreamers" were all honest on their application and were properly vetted? Besides they are allowed to have known misdemeanor criminal offenses and still be DACA eligible.
I certainly don't believe it without reason or evidence.
well, you posted that link, why posting it if you don't believe it then? Sheesh
