Sounds like the military is exactly the one who should be solving the problem.

Fortunately it's been decreasing since Trump has been in office. Time for the military to put the lid on.
So they have the personnel to count the people coming across illegally but not the personnel to stop them?

Look -- all these illegal immigration numbers are GUESSTIMATES -- they are high when demanding a wall and low when bragging about the changes Trump has made.

Its obviously a war. Its hard to tell civilians from combatants. Sometimes women and children are combatants. You can never be too careful. Sometimes there is collateral damage.

Bringing in the military makes it a military operation. This is what the military does.

If the military budget has enough money in it to build a wall then their budget is way too big and should have been cut a long time ago. Also, Trump is not king. He can't take money from one department and put it in another without the house and senate taking it up for debate. Not going to happen. It's been suggested int his thread that Trump pour a bunch of his own money into the wall. Good idea. Lots of wealthy people do philanthropic work that far outweighs anything he has ever done. If you believe him, he could out give Gates and Oprah if he wasn't so selfish.

As pathetic as the republicans are, they kicked your ass and humiliated the Dems and the left. How pathetic to lose to these mediocre republicans and the left and Dems will continue to lose as long a these leftist identity groups and special interest control your party
And yet - the R-led Congress just passed a spending bill that forbids massive new spending on The Wall - basically allows for maintenance of what is already there.

I don't think it's just "...leftist identity groups and special interest..." that are dubious about this boondoggle.

The Military personnel don't need their raise's ,their family's don't need to be taken care of, the VA doesn't need more money ......but take money from them to build an "un-needed" wall , makes sense

Does POTUS Trump actually believe he could make this happen? Because he can't.

What I would like to see is $300-500 million put into border security. Thousands of more border agents, more vehicles, state of art technology, etc.

What I don't want to see is several billion dollars spent on actually building a literal 30 foot wall. And no matter how much he tries to walk it back, we all know Trump and most of his supporters expected a literal big ass wall. "We're going to build a great big beautiful wall." Trump's exact words.

Makes too much sense. Trump would never think of it.

The majority of those here without proper documents are those overstaying their visas.

Why don't we start there?

Pass legislation with consequences for employers who hire those without the proper visas or proof of citizenship.

Track down those we have no record of leaving the country.

Lots we could do to get this under better control while wait for Mexico to pony up the money for the wall.
