There is no defending such a disgusting comment, but I'm sick of the double standard and merciless PC left. If you make one mistake, say ONE wrong thing, it's over. No amount of apologizing, making amends will make a difference. If you make one screw up, you deserve to have your life ruined forever. Roseanne is finished. We will probably never see her again on tv.
OTOH, when a liberal says something adhorant, they rarely have to pay such severe consequences like the professor who called Barbara Bush a racist and was not fired.
Kathy Griffith got fired from every one of her jobs. So, yeah, they do pay a price.
Roseanne is a fool and she just ruined it for all of the cast. IF I were the president of ABC - I wouldn't want that Roseanne representing me either.
It's not the LEFT. It's the fault of Roseanne - period - full stop. Stop whining; it's no one's fault but her own. Such a fine line to walk - to appeal to the crazier of the MAGA set - yet not offend the person WHO SIGNS YOUR PAYCHECK.

I don't agree with the climate of unforgiveness. ABC is just responding to that climate. Their statement about company values is a load of crap. They only value viewership.
Roseanne has apologized and said her comment was a stupid thing to post. What more can she do? Nothing. She wasted her time even apologizing. The sentence has already been carried out.
She has been in and out of therapy for years, from what I've read. Bi-Polar and drug issues.
I repeat - it was after Midnight and an hour long rant across several twitter accounts.
I don't watch much TV, didn't watch her show in the past and not the current show - although I was thinking about it as I thought All in the Family was one of the best written shows ever on TV.
That was a different time ...... we didn't have The Outrage of the Day and we did have real Education in schools.

It depends on the content and context. If it is during off hours no. During work hours yes. This is the reason why unions are important in today's America. If the content and context is full of hate. Than can them.
I won't defend Roseanne. she was wrong. it is true, however, there is a double standard.
Joy reid is still working at MSNBC.

This morning I asked MSNBC for an update in the investigation, but haven't heard back.”
If you feel that strongly about it - call up MSNBC and share your concerns.
Reid apologized and apparently everyone is inclined to accept it.
Roseanne apologized - said she was going off twitter - then 2 hours later was back on with some anti-semitic comment.
