Hillbilly Elegy is a book praising rural folks, and criticizing politicians for ignoring rural areas, so you have no idea what you're talking about.

I guess that's why he's a Stanford and Yale Law educated Rhodes Scholar who rose from poverty in the projects to the Senate, and is widely respected across both parties.

Can't say I'm surprised. Though I didn't really need another reason to never vote for him. When push came to shove, Corey Booker showed his true colors.

I'm willing to forgive people if they show that they've changed. But politicians aren't really people

Some people bash rural America.

Some people bash urban America.

Some people tend to use a broad brush to describe just about anything.

Take it up with the author, not Booker.

I actually read the book. The author wants to describe the culture of “hill people” (his grandmother’s words not mine).

At least Mr Booker made an effort to understand a culture different than his.

The author only bashes a few members of his family and maybe a couple of neighbors.

The OP is misleading. I don’t think the OP has read the book. It’s “Hillbilly Elegy” by J.D. Vance. It received outstanding reviews.

The only thing Cory understands is the checks coming in from the pharmaceutical companies.

So is Trump but you’re not holding that against him.
