Contrary to popular belief, money doesn't end poverty.
If it did, let us wave our legislative wand, and deposit in EVERYONE'S Account, 22 billion billion quatloos - a substantial sum. Everyone is equally wealthy. Now, that everyone is "Set for Life," what happens next?
Everyone has "enough" money - so no one bothers to work, transport, trade, etc, etc, and civilization collapses. Even starving children are wealthy!
When no one needs money, who will trade their labor and possessions for more?
We can look at and blame many things such as drug use on the rising numbers of homeless but it is tough to blame Trump on this when unemployment rates across the spectrum are down.
I cannot consider the homeless problem say in California without considering their love for illegal aliens that costs that state a reported $25 Billion per year or $2370 per household. https://fairus.org/issue/publication...rnia-taxpayers
Imagine if the illegal aliens were cleared out and that $25 Billion could be put to use helping the homeless?
The Democrats of California do not care about the homeless but they sure want to help the illegal aliens.
America’s poor have a long way to go before they are destitute. Our ‘poor’ have a high standard of living, relative to the truly poor areas of the world.

Not compared to developed countries. Not even close
Interesting graphs, but there is an error in voting turn out, the top 3 have compulsory voting. I like the map of countries with paid maternity leave. Not surprising from a country where this type of people are allowed to run for office. https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/...b0d5e89e1e4824
“Everyone” knows that having a lot of money makes one “rich.”
EXCEPT
1) when no one wants your money or what it can buy
2) when there’s nothing in the marketplace for sale
Real prosperity is based on prodigious production of surplus usable goods and services, equitably traded, and enjoyed. Doing more with less so more can enjoy is superior to doing less with more so few can enjoy.
Despite unmet need, unemployment, underemployment, closed retailers and factories, people still believe that there’s “too much money chasing too few goods.” [i.e. “Inflation”]
If you ask each group : WHY? Their usual answer is : “No one has enough money to buy, hire, manufacture, and sell.”
Something doesn’t add up.
We know that money doesn’t solve poverty. If it did, giving everyone 22 billion billion quatloos, so that no one ever needed money again should end poverty. But if no one needs money, why trade labor and possessions for more? And if no one bothers to work, mine, manufacture, ship, and sell, there is nothing to buy with all that money. Even the starving children are fabulously wealthy.
Obviously, people have to realize that being productive is the civilized thing to do, as is equitable trade. And to beware of the con artists who use money madness to skim a vast fortune, while doing absolutely nothing useful.

Why?
Because the homeless aren’t cleaning their homes and doing their yard work?
