41 million live in poverty in America, one third are children
Poverty in the United States is extensive and is deepening under the Trump administration whose policies seem aimed at removing the safety net from millions of poor, while rewarding the rich, a U.N. human rights investigator has found.
Philip Alston, U.N. special rapporteur on extreme poverty, called on U.S. authorities to provide solid social protection and address underlying problems, rather than "punishing and imprisoning the poor."
While welfare benefits and access to health insurance are being slashed, President Donald Trump's tax reform has awarded "financial windfalls" to the mega-rich and large companies, further increasing inequality, he said in a report.
Almost 41 million people live in poverty, 18.5 million of them in extreme poverty, and children account for one in three poor, he said. The United States has the highest youth poverty rate among industrialized countries, he added.
So MAGA does not include folks that need a hand? A society will be judged on how it treats its most needy and destitute and how it puts policies in place to improve the quality of life for ALL. The USA is failing miserably as we allow the sociopaths on the right to rule the day. A selfish pandering grifter such as Trump and his equally self-serving kin are merely a symptom of the disease and the final straw of what has been a long time coming. If we do not turn things around and quickly, the USA is a complete failure and a broken relic of the foundation that the founders envisioned...a failed experiment that never reached its desired and intended conclusion.
Stupidity (a/k/a Leftism) has its own consequences! The Trumpsters have their own blind spots, but they have little to do with this. We need to "sweep the streets" and deliver the truly dysfunctional to a place where they can't get out, and liquor, drugs, and Democrats can't get in. Then the problem can be cleaned up, with a strong hand, on a case-by-case basis,
MAGA is bringing America back to the days before the New Deal. Hell they want to go back to the 19th century. You know those halcyon days when Orphanages were common, squalor was the norm, and urchins were on the street. Dickens would recognize what Trump wants.
We can look at and blame many things such as drug use on the rising numbers of homeless but it is tough to blame Trump on this when unemployment rates across the spectrum are down.

Imagine if the illegal aliens were cleared out and that $25 Billion could be put to use helping the homeless?
The Democrats of California do not care about the homeless but they sure want to help the illegal aliens.

Especially those children. Who told them to be born? The children should have known the "Save the Fetus/Screw the Child" philosophy of the right while in the womb.
