Utilities' records.

Should one have to provide a SS number for any of the above, other than employment or SS and Medicare benefits? No. But that's been going on for decades.
So stop giving out your SS when you don't have to.

You can't access those things without providing your SS number. It's a choice one makes. Have/access those things, or do without.

Thanks for the article. History is replete with examples of citizens who just gave up with their societies going from democracies to autocracies. American institutions are stronger than most, but then again the Roman Republic was nearly 500 years old when it collapsed.

It all starts with disdain for the institutions of this country. Read Trumplican posts on CD or so-called "conservative" opinions on our institutions. Hatred for the media. Hatred for the first Amendment. Hatred of Freedom of Religion, except their own. Hatred of law enforcement. Hatred of the electoral process. A general hatred of all matters that contradict the Trumplican narrative.

There is so much evidence that Trump is a Russian tool, if not, an outright Russian agent. Do Trumplicans want to get to the truth? No. They would rather the country be torn apart, internally and externally, then criticize or investigate Trump. These Trumplicans are either willing participants in this scam or fools to the cult of personality that Trump is fostering.

The US has always been immune to the cult of personality that has afflicted other nations. But for whatever reason, a Russian compromised former reality TV star with a penchant for scams has 40% of the nation in a tither.

I remember reading a quote once when Rome was at the height of its power that it would last forever. It was the light of the world. Fifty years later barbarians were on its door steps. They once controlled the world and saw it all come down.

I often wondered what the Romans thought when they saw their world crumbling around them.

Now I know.

The next time you're at the doctors and they ask for your SS just say no...

They might look at you funny. They might ask again... just say no. They'll relent and still treat you.

I don't give two ****s what the trend is.

The SCOTUS pick is not a Constitutionalist if he approves the NSA's mass collection of data.

If I told you a turd was a cream filled chocolate roll and that was the current trend of what they looked like would you eat it?

Can't disagree with the man's observations, but a lot of us understood this a long time ago. Actually this was a risk from day 1 of the republic; any system that is based on a system of free elections carries the seeds of it's own destruction within it.

Americans won't go under the boot quietly though. That is not our nature.

Insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid all have your SS#. Sure, you can refuse to give it in one particular instance, but as it's already on record, refusing to give it does nothing at all to keep your health/medical records from being tracked via SS#.

Its illegal to use SS number for identification purposes, it states this clearly on the cards.

Oh my, he says the same thing that every liberal has been saying every second since Trump was elected President and things are now better than ever. It's now time to accept the results of the last election or be treated for TDS

It's not used for ID. It's used for verification of said ID. Just stop and think about how many ways you yourself are being tracked via your SS#.
