Of course, it is just a coincidence that Manafort and Trump know the same Russian oligarchs, and are both connected to Putin, that Manafort worked for the campaign for free and that the GOP slate was changed during the convention to ease up on Russia?
The Trump team has also downplayed how well the president and Manafort knew each other before the 2016 campaign. Manafort himself has said, “Donald Trump and I had some business in the 1980s but we had no relationship until the Trump campaign called me.”
Mueller probe is not corrupt at all. The jurors have convicted Manafort. They convicted on counts based on the evidence presented and their deliberations.
While I don't disagree with it being a bad scenario, the whole Manifort thing seems to have nothing to do with Trump, no? Prior crimes before the campaign?
Watch for his future trials (plural). The first one will be next month, and my guess is there will be a lot more info coming out about Russia. We already know there are three times as many exhibits as there were for this trial, and a different judge to try it.
After that trial, it may be time to unseal the next batch of indeictments and see who gets to play the game next.
Trump is still president and will be re-elected by a landslide in 2020.
