The real risk for the GOP if this goes to an FBI investigation is that they will have a good idea of what public opinion is about seating Kavanaugh by then. If there is a solid majority against him, it will give more Republicans reason not to vote for him.
A rushed vote is not good for the GOP.
But a week more of this might not be good for them, either.
Their best bet would be to withdraw this nomination and start again.
What the hell is there to "investigate" anyways. It was from 1982 for cripe sakes. All the "evidence" is gone. Theres not gonna be a blue dress laying around with Kavanaugh's spooge on it.

I hope they don't. Let them reap the whirlwind.
There is no reason to withdraw his name. He is a good pick.
The whole thing is a train wreck, and I would most like to see Kavanaugh withdraw and the President to move on with another nominee. This is not good for the country, and Kavanaugh, if he's truly worthy of the position he seeks, should recognize that.
Oh, you like the idea of giving in to evil bullies?? lol
Not me.
100% guaranteed there will be more allegations this weekend - promoted by Dems. I would be my life on it.
Yep. The door to delay has now been opened.
The dems will throw out more baseless accusations, and demand that every accusation be investigated. This will continue until after the mid-terms.
