One of the things I don't like about USA is its crime rate.

You have to think about it in other terms.

Canada is the small town, USA is the big city. More people move to a bigger city.

Folks gravitate to where there is more business.

More people mean more jobs, more opportunities, etc.

It just does.

I don't think it is as bad as the statistics make it appear....There are many in your country incarcerated for very minor non-violent crimes.... ’The War on Drugs,’ which was largely a political crusade helped to trigger the mass incarceration trend of the last 40 or so years.

We also have a group people who commit 50% of all murders but Canada doesn't have.

Oh the irony. I guess renouncing that evil horrible terrible U.S. citizenship isn't so easy after all.
It's actually not easy to renounce, even as a dual citizen.

The US is the ONLY country in the planet that robs every US citizen on the planet for tax money, regardless of whether they live in or have even set foot in the US. AND the pimp mackgovernment forces US citizens to reveal all of their bank accounts all over the world.

Because of that, the US government knows that it sucks to be saddled with US citizenship when you have dual citizenship elsewhere, so they don't make it so easy to renounce.

Not only are the fees to renounce higher than any country's on earth, they simply won't even let you renounce if they even SLIGHTLY suspect you're doing it for tax, privacy, or financial reasons.

Renouncing is a guarantee of a 5-year audit and you can't successfully process your request until all taxes have been cleared. In addition you will likely forever be screened when returning to the US to visit.

Frankly I would recommend against it.
