You know nothing about forest management with the comments you made.
First of all, a mature forest has little or no understory, and frankly, about the only critters you'll see there are squirrels, bugs and some birds. An understory is never used for timber, where in the heck did you get that perspective from?
Most conservationists understand the need for periodic fire, including those on the left. What makes you think they would not? Now, if you do a bit about forest management, tell me the best practice of harvesting, and why it is.
If you don't know, that's OK, but don't make comment that are either wrong or very incomplete. BTW, this IS my lane, just in case you want to walk down that road.
Another example of how our President is an I D I O T. He just dribbles nonsense out of his pie hole about any topic way over his head and thinks he's impressing everyone
He’s impressing his base...which is not hard to do.
So from that article....the Feds also need to change up things in how they manage their forests (which the majority of CA forest land is) and they can work together better to sort it out. I am tired of everyone trying to pin this solely on CA.
"The US Forest Service, for example, gets dedicated annual appropriations from Congress to suppress wildfires, and this budget gets supplemented by emergency funding. But programs to thin out forests or set smaller prescribed fires are part of a more limited prevention fund — and this money often gets diverted during severe wildfires to pay for firefighting."
So if you want to get ahead of the problem, Feds need to start spending more on prevention on their part, too. Then it should hopefully start getting better where the money isn't needed for severe fires as much.
Sounds like a job the federal government is failing miserably at, as usual. Trump is in charge of that department now. But as usual instead of acting like a leader, he points fingers.
You didn't answer my question as to best practice in forest management. Prescribed burns is something used in primarily protected areas, like parks. Now tell me what the best practices for forest management are and why? Don't give me a link that is a partial answer at best.
Again, if you don't know, that's OK, say so. But don't pretend. I remind you, this IS my lane.

I wouldn't count on getting an answer. The likely intention was to defend Trump from criticism.
Classy. You realize this remark is now associated in my mind with you much more than with Trump?
