I'm sure they are capable, but it's not really in their perview. I think they are supposed to do things that actually benefit or protect the US Citizens. The wall sounds good, but it's really just symbolic. Like a publicity stunt. Everyone knows that the drugs come in from tunnels and flights, and the people come in (largely) by overstaying visas. I'm sure the wall would stop some of the lowest hanging fruit, but it would be analogous them building a dam on the LA Delta. THe water would just find a way around it, just like the immigrants will.
Trump does not care about stopping illegals, he uses them just like other businesses do. He's just wanting to benefit from the optics, and also by keeping them illegal, he and his rich buddies can exploit them all the more. Better plan would be to get some REAL immigration reform, and then ENFORCE it. (He'll do neither)

They really can't let go of that stupid wall myth that Trump sold them, can they ? 10 years from now, we will have a new President in there, and they will be complaining that he/she has done nothing about the wall yet.
Wake up, Trumpees, you were sold a bill of goods, bamboozled, conned bigly, lied to. The only reason Trump keeps fighting for that wall is to divert attention away from all the heat coming down on him, and to keep what is left of his base intact.

The word is purview. And, yes, preventing foreign national/citizen criminals and terrorists from illegally entering the US isa national security issue.
There are several centuries worth of examples in which a border wall has greatly aided with national security.
Seriously? Walls and moats around cities worked 200 years ago, so they might work to resolve national security issues in 2018 along a 2000 mile border?
