Government could have been open before the Democrats took over the house. The Republican Congress and President failed so they are to blame, Trump more than Congress.
Trump NEEDS to cave to save his ass. As I showed Tue longer we go, we are looking at an economic crisis based on trickle in economics. The 5 million workers not making any money right now are not contributing to the economy other than gasoline.
Caving now would seal his doom and you know it. There is no partial credit. The point of no return was crossed a month ago.

LOL. Trump's idea of being a grownup was to inform Pelosi, in no uncertain terms, that he intended to come to the House and give the speech as planned whether she liked it or not.
And Pelosi, the real grownup in this scenario, quietly and firmly said, "No, Lil' Donnie, you will not."
And Lil' Donnie slunk off in the corner and pouted, because there was nothing else he could do.
I couldn't figure it out until now why Pelosi is keeping the Gov. closed. It has nothing to do with being against border security. She is not waiting for Trump to resign though that would probably help. She doesn't care about spending the money, $5 Billion is a drop in the bucket to the Feds. I don't even think she cares one way or another about the people that are suffering on both sides of the border.
The reason she is keeping it closed is because she thinks Trump will close the Gov. the next time he doesn't get his way. Talk about cutting off ones nose to spite the face... Talk about being childish. Border security should be the number one security concern NOT a game of political football. We are talking about real people that are hurting because of this nonsense.
I say give him the money because border security is important and then get to work on a budget that works so we won't have anymore shutdowns.
Why do we keep finding ourselves in this predicament time and again?
If our elected would do their jobs we wouldn't have shutdowns and if we do then they do not get paid and they should be locked in the senate chamber until they can work it out.

The Secure Fence Act was to be for double barriers on 700 miles of the most porous areas of the border. That's a hell of a lot more than mere fencing. It's unfortunate that congress chose to use the word "fence" under that bill (probably to make it seem more PC ) instead of calling it what it actually was. Now the lefties are going crazy over mere words rather than focusing on barriers which is what was actually promised.
The reason that I keep bringing up that law is because congress didn't follow through on their initial promise to build the barriers instead of mere fencing and that is what Trump is trying to correct now. The mere fencing is ineffective! So yes, the Secure Fence Act needs to be brought up in this discussion. Also, barriers not fences under that law had both Schumer and Obama's signatures on it and yet today the Democrats are balking at it?

Trump is doomed by this mess he created. The only way out for trump, if he wants to save the GOP, is to swallow his toxic pride and open the government.

GDP is falling. Just added another trillion to the National Debt. That makes $2 trillion in two years.
We're in the middle of a big investigation. Bunch of people are in prison or heading there.
Also, most Americans think the President is a Russian stooge. He sure acts like one.
