Lol, yeah look how destroyed it’s been the past two years. Get a grip people, he is fighting for something he campaigned on, I know that’s rare in politics but that is what’s happening. Democrats won’t budge so here we are in gridlock, get comfortable because it may last a lot longer

Trump had 2 years of gop control of both houses yet he still couldn't get his stupid wall funded.

Why is it up to dems to fund it now?? Esp after he just put $2 trillion on the nation's credit card with a tax cut he didn't pay for

I don't think it will. Eventually, these unpaid workers are going to stop coming to work. The country will grind to a halt without air traffic controllers and the TSA. And Lil' Donnie, who Americans blame for the shutdown by wide margins, will be forced to cave--or the worthless Republican party will be forced to.

Let's hope this happens before some serious incident occurs that costs lives. That would really put a nail in his, and the GOP's, coffin.

Not that he had a choice. It's the Speaker of the House's choice to invite or not invite the President to speak. Trump cannot MAKE her do it.

Your hatred is showing and clouding your judgement sir. Trump made a wise concession, choosing to wait and deliver his address until the government is up and running again. And let's face it, if he stood his ground and went ahead with the address at another location, which he could absolutely do, you'd be calling him names and talking about what an idiot he is. But, since he actually did concede to wait to deliver the address, you now get to basically portray him as weak and say things like he "bowed" to Pelosi. So, as usual, there is no right way for the president in the eyes of those who blindly oppose him. He will be painted in the worst light by them no matter what he chooses to do.

And referring to the part of your post I placed in bold, you are absolutely right. Trump cannot make her invite him to speak in the house. However, building on that, Mrs. Pelosi also cannot stop the president from delivering his address if he desires to do so. He could have simply chosen another venue from which to deliver his address. He did not do this because of Pelosi. He did this because he wants to deliver his address when the government is up and running again. Your spin is just that, spin. Rooted in nothing more than your personal disdain for the president.

Why the hell would there be a SOTU while gov is shutdown?

That’s like having a football rally while the NFL is on strike.

Yesterday he wanted to give the SOTU address at the house chambers. He only backed down after Pelosi refused.

Leftists clearly believe that respecting the Rules/Traditions of the US House of Representatives and Senate (concurrent resolution) is a bad thing and shows weakness on the President's part.

He will make the State of the Nation speech to a Joint meeting of Congress .... they can't permanently stop that and he knows it. She looks childish as the first Speaker in US History to do such a thing.
She looks desperate - he says OK, your choice.

Point is - Government is partially shut down, and the President is already making plans for the extension of the partial shutdown for March/April. There is no doubt that Nancy will attempt another stunt over the Debt Ceiling. Long goal has to be to do as much damage as possible to the US Economy - that is the 2020 Election plan in the War against Trump.

You Leftists consider that a BIG WIN for Nancy -- Rah-Rah Team.
I'm doubtful that the long this goes on it will be a win - the longer this shut down continues over Border Security, the worse it gets for Nancy & Chuck who refuse to even talk to the Republicans and the President and his team. 10's of 1,000's of Illegal Aliens are headed for our Southern Border - soon we will see the rocks and fire bombs thrown at Border Patrol again. Eventually, the Border between Mexico and the USA will be shut down again as the rush the Ports of Entry.

The Optics are bad for her - Mexico and California will go nuts when that Border is shut down.
Meanwhile ..... enjoy your big WIN

Why was my post deleted? I said he wants an audience. Since he won’t get one , he won’t do the address until he can be in front of an audience.
