It's all relative when it comes to the ludicrous comments above.

Had Obama conceded and postponed the SOTU requested by the Speak of the House then he would be praised for his willingness to do the right thing. They would adore him for making such a wise decision, etc., etc., etc.

However, since it was President Trump who agreed to postpone the SOTU he is now viewed as a loser who has been defeated and what a laughable joke he is. Not one word about how great it is that he is wanting to work for the betterment of our country by his willingness to work with both sides of the aisle.

When the agreement is reached regarding the wall and the government is back up and running all of the praise will be given to the left - - - no matter how much either side concedes.

There is nothing wrong with being loyal to one's party and expressing viewpoints as long as it's done maturely and with intelligent forethought, it should never consist of childish comments and name calling to the point of bullying. Political bullying is declaring that anyone with views opposite from yours is to be targeted, harassed and removed from public eye. Freedom of speech (to many on the left) is only allowed if you're against President Trump and want to join their campaign.

Beyond pathetic.

I don't even think she cares one way or another about the people that are suffering on both sides of the border.

The reason she is keeping it closed is because she thinks Trump will close the Gov. the next time he doesn't get his way. Talk about cutting off ones nose to spite the face... Talk about being childish. Border security should be the number one security concern NOT a game of political football. We are talking about real people that are hurting because of this nonsense.

I say give him the money because border security is important and then get to work on a budget that works so we won't have anymore shutdowns.

Why do we keep finding ourselves in this predicament time and again?

If our elected would do their jobs we wouldn't have shutdowns and if we do then they do not get paid and they should be locked in the senate chamber until they can work it out.
Folks, step outside your bubble for once. Every single poll shows the vast majority of Americans DO NOT support this wall. Pelosi is the only one with b____s enough to stand up to the tantrum throwing child in the White House. I commend her daily.

A pyrrhic victory indeed.
Yeah, just like that stunt when he denied Pelosi military aircraft, for her war zone trip at the last minute. That was much to the delight on the right on this forum, they took great pleasure in that move by Trump.

McConnell's statement that he won't send Trump a bill he knows that Trump won't sign can be taken two ways, IMO. Most people have interpreted it as a sign of McConnell ass-kissing. But a true ass-kisser would tell Trump, oh, yes, boss, you never said you'd sign that, my fault for misunderstanding you. I think we're just seeing McConnell refusing to go out on a limb on Trump's behalf. I don't know why anyone could blame him for that.
Any way you look at it, he's covering Trump's ass. A clean bill would most likely pass the Senate, and McConnell knows it, since it already has. Doing so would put the ball right in Trump's lap. But he doesn't want to show up a Republican president by proving that the majority, even within his own party, are against him on this.

That's what McConnell is protecting the president from. And yes, I absolutely blame him for putting politics before country.

It was only after Mexico flipped him the bird that the narrative suddenly flipped to "The wall will pay for itself" - which is, incidentally, substantially different from Mexico paying for it.

You're either lying or you've been lied to.
Im not sure what the $24 million figure is talking about, its estimated the drug cartels alone rake in around $300 million a year from the US.

Since we are, once again, at whatabout Obama, Obama would not have fussed around with Ryan about giving the speech. He would have recognized that a State of the Union assessment while the government was shut down was a poor idea to begin with.

Trump tried to bully his way in here, cancelled the Afghanistan trip at the last minute and then leaked the details of the commercial flight, sent a ridiculous letter about their "contract" (there was no contract and what does Trump care about following terms of contracts anyway?) and one thing and another.

Pelosi said no. Get the government up and running and we'll come up with a mutually agreed upon time for you to stand in front of us.

Voss, a former hostage negotiator, wrote about how Trump had to have a personal stake in the outcome before he'd get a move on. She gave him a personal stake in the outcome.

Wonder what her next move will be.

This crap again? I posted Trump's plan to make Mexico pay for it. Did you miss it? In the meantime funding is needed to get it started. Were you as concerned back in 2006 then the actual wall bill was passed and it was to soley be funded by the taxpayer? Thought not! Hypocricy rules with you and yours.
