Oh geez, this has been explained a billion times by now, its kinda like when its said new windows pay for themselves in an older house...this means, the energy savings OVER TIME will equal out to the initial cost of the windows, the windows do not literally pay for themselves!

Saw this on redit this morning.....

"I think Pelosi should torture him by making him reasonable offers he won’t accept.
He can have 10 Billion for his ****ing wall provided he first does the following:

1. He releases all of his tax returns, both personal and business for the last 20 years.

2. He presents documents confirming that, as he had claimed previously, all of his assets were now placed in a blind trust to avoid any appearances of conflict of interest. And he must confirm this under oath in a sworn deposition.

3. He must stop having any private communications with any employees or subcontractors of a major media organization, including FOX News.

4. He is to have no further private communications with Putin.

5. He is to fire and replace the following individuals with better qualified competent, individuals approved unanimously by a bipartisan committee of six senators, three from each party:
Betsy DeVos
Wilbur Ross
Jared Kushner
Ivanka Trump
Stephen Miller
Kirstjen Nielsen

6. There is to be no unmonitored viewing of FOX News during the remainder of his presidency.

7. He will stop hiding behind his twitter account and regularly meet with the press and answer questions for an hour at least twice a month on a workday.

8. No more air force One use until the shutdown is over and government employees have received back pay and a bonus. And all government contractors have been fairly compensated for their losses.

9. No use of Trump facilities that result in taxpayer funds lining his pockets."

Makes sense to me, anyone got anything to add to the list?

end of rant.
I agree that more responsibility needs to be shown by SOME adults.

But.

But I cannot in my heart of hearts punish the children of those irresponsible adults by withholding food from them. Can you? Or is it better if those children had been aborted, so they would not need food stamps?

You misspelled "explained away". Trump's campaign published a paper on how to get Mexico to pay a lump sum for the wall. Doubt me? Here you go, right from the source:

https://assets.donaldjtrump.com/Pay_for_the_Wall.pdf

Quote:
It's an easy decision for Mexico: make a one-time payment of $5-
10 billion to ensure that $24 billion continues to flow into their country year
after year. There are several ways to compel Mexico to pay for the wall...

It was only after Mexico flipped him the bird that the narrative suddenly flipped to "The wall will pay for itself" - which is, incidentally, substantially different from Mexico paying for it.

Not happy yet? Have another:

https://web.archive.org/web/20150816...gration-reform

Quote:
Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards – of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options]. We will not be taken advantage of anymore.
You're either lying or you've been lied to.

Pelosi is going exactly what we the people elected a blue Congress to do. They passed numerous bipartisan bills to open the government that the now dysfunctional senate refused to bring to the floor for a vote. Presidents don't dictate legislation, and real presidents don't harm fellow American's to dictate legislation. Trump said he owns this shut down and he does, including all of the damage it's causing.

Pelosi has the upper hand here and Trump is paying for his rather malignant rookie mistake. Why should she give in to an ignorant bully? I agree that Trump should not be rewarded for doing something this despicable. Shutting down the government and admitting to owning it is all on Trump. Let him make compromises. Pelosi is doing exactly what we the people in the majority want Congress to do. Suck it up Buttercup Trump. We don't always get our way when we the people have spoken. Hopefully bye bye senate in 2020.
