Then federal employees are even dumber than I thought. The primary news stories during the weeks leading up to the shutdown were that both sides were refusing to compromise and it was likely going to be a long one.

Big companies don't care that much to loose a customer or two.

Big corporations don't care about the people but they do care about the publicity. They are much more likely to defer payments due for federal workers because it is nationwide and all eyes are on them.

That’s a lie.

The budgets submitted before the shutdown were bipartisan, they were literally written before the Democrats took back the house. Trump chose not to sign the bipartisan budget. That means the “sides” were Trump vs both republicans and democrats.

That is what a question mark means, I was asking the question. Which you did not answer...

So who is the boss and who is the employee in your analogy?

If the shutdown doesn't end soon, chances are those "dumb" (as you call them) federal employee border patrol folks will just open up the border gates and go home. If you think there's insufficient border security now, just wait 'till that happens. Remember videos of all those tens of thousands eastern Europeans flooding across the "collapsed" Iron Curtain?

This is their "help" - they will offer you a loan at 0% for ... wait for it... 60 days. Useless help.
