Voted Yes simply because I see both sides as too stubborn to cave in. If he does this it goes to the courts, the government shutdown ends and the issue is resolved. Presidential power is either increased or decreased. This is nothing new in our Nation.
Given Politicians, regardless of which way the Court Rules both sides will claim victory. Imagine if the real world worked like that. Both sides claim Victory in the Super Bowl(regardless of scores) and their fan base goes wild.
Absolutely. It is the only solution for our country. The two sides have stupidly made this an absolute line in the sand. If either party backs down at all , they lose their base and lose any hope of remaining meaningful in the governance of the country. In other words both sides have said to the other, "No I will not negotiate one smidgen, you have to commit suicide right here in front of us all.
It is stupid. I t is not about border security. the Democrats agree we need boarder security. It is not about federal employee pay - thousands of people completely lose their jobs/careers ever month and no one cares. the politicians do not give a snert about the federal employees or the welfare and social security recipients who may not get their checks except as much as they prove useful in their war against each other. they have made this the battle for destruction of each other. No one can back down. The country cannot move forward. We are stuck and potentially stuck for good.
The one solution is for Trump to declare an emergency. that is the only way both sides can move on without one side having to commit suicide (which obviously they are not about to do). the democrats are complete freaking idiots if they try to block the use of emergency powers because 1. they will lose; and 2. they will destroy themselves or out government in the process.
Our parties have become so obsessed with "winning" they cannot govern. A republic cannot function without compromise and our politicians are incapable of compromise because they have all whipped their base into a no compromise frenzy of hate.
I believe this is a crucial moment in the life of our nation and the only way to avert a disaster for everyone is to give both sides a graceful exit. Otherwise, no matter which party loses after a two year shut down, we all lose.
if these people cannot learn how to act like adults and workout comprises as we have done for most of the last 200 years, our country is probably done.

Most Republicans do not want a wall paid with our taxpayer money. All Americans want secure borders.
Only the lunatic fringe that thinks otherwise.
The birther-in-thief has made his wall an issue because he and his slimy crime family are being closed in on and surrounded by the wall that Mueller has built.
And the tools are still falling for this major BS deflection.
Looks like he’s backing off the emergency idea since everyone rolled their eyes and told him that’s not how any of this works. So that tantrum didn’t work. He’s still holding his breath and turning blue, but the Congress and the Senate passed a bill to guarantee back pay for the furloughed workers. Not sure if Trump is signing it.
Looks like the great negotiator is having some trouble negotiating...
