My guess is the ignorant teens were antagonizing them as well, so the guys let them have it. You don't need to wear a MAGA hat to a pro-life rally. What does one have to do with the other? Nothing. They were being hateful and I hope they feel the full consequences of their actions.
You don’t have to guess. Look at the entire incident which has been posted here twice (and someone even posted when this confrontation started in the long video. It does not show them doing anything wrong.)

I use to live there, moved from there years ago, but when I was up there last winter, sure enough, outside Gallery Place metro station, there they were, doing the same as always.

Necessary? America is a free country. People can wear whatever hats they like, and it makes perfect sense for pro life demonstrators to support a president who is pro life.

I really don't care about MAGA at all. Just trying to figure out why students from a religious institution thought it was appropriate attire for a non-partisan cause.
Well Trump is pro-life and even made a recording to play at the rally. If the students wanted to wear their MAGA hats in support of Trump I can see where they would. It would be a very nice gesture for our president.

Only sad thing is they ran across a lot of Trump haters who wanted to make trouble. We still live in a free country last time I checked.

Not stepping aside for an elder and using body language to challenge one is not only wrong, but would get you popped in the mouth by an adult where I'm from. Kid is disrespectful either way you cut it. I doubt very seriously he would have done it to a white senior.

I guess the MSM think it's perfectly fine if they want to stand in public yelling insults at people but other people can't wait for a bus and chant their school song.

The senior walked up to him and beat a drum into his ear. The student tried to do what he could not to cause a problem by standing still.

I guess you would have done it better but I doubt it.

WaPo is at least now providing an alternate version of events. Video here:

...shows Sandmann diffusing the confrontation, asking his classmates not to engage Phillips' allies when they begin hurling abuse (3:30).

You cannot be serious, the old guy walked up to and confronted the teen. This is clear on the video, crystal clear. There is no "stepping aside", the guy purposely confronted the teen.

Seems you come from a violent, uncivilized place, if committing assault would be what someone would do.
