The old guy needs to show some respect also, respect is not given, it is earned. He walked up to them and confronted the teens, not the other way around. You cannot "step aside" for someone who is trying to confront you, the teen has zero obligation to step aside for anyone, the old man can go around him or somewhere else, instead of straight into a massive crowd.
