Wind power in the United Kingdom - Wikipedia

For the USA to reproduce this for it's needs, based on the numbers of that site, would require the construction of ~700,000 windmills.

The average price of power in the UK is ~$0.22 KWH.

The average price of power in the USA is ~$0.08KWH.

And that just brings the USA to 18%.

Solar ad Wind are cheaper than fossil fuels and nuclear energy. Whilst lare costs are involced in decommissioning nuclear facilities and building new nuclear plants, whilst fossil fuels are on the way out.

Of course wind turbines as a 100% source of power is not realistic.

You don't "depend" on any single source.

The Guardian is a discredited source.

There is no way that Solar & Wind can be counted on for base load power. The technology doesn't exist to put it online on the scale needed for the USA for the costs that would even be close to competitive for what's out there.

The USA is sitting on known coal reserves good for 300 years at current usage rates. It's folly indeed to believe that it's going to be ignored considering the available options. And places such as this won't be going off line anytime soon.

Yes, but Trump likens wind power as something akin to a hampster wheel.
