Theres not really any competition for the US team. They have won 50% of world cups and 2/3 of the Gold Medals.

The field is pretty thin, yet somehow Rapinoe is somehow oppressed.

If someone is not interested in it, why should they support it?

The bigger story here is the fact that a US women’s soccer team won the World Cup and most Americans don’t even know it. This would be a huge deal in most countries but here in America it is not. Soccer still has not gained prominence here in spite of all the efforts for it to do so.

It's an incredibly boring game.

It doesn't help their cause when the idiotic captain decides to inject her personal politics into the event. She's done everything she can to make it about her, and people don't like it.

No, if it were the Mens team it would be a bigger story. Its why they dont get paid as much....Not as many people care. Basic fact. The US team is basically the Patriots vs Vanderbilt. Yes they are great athletes but not many countries invest in Womens sports.

And they wonder why most Americans don't care about about this win and get furious when they aren't paid like the men's team.
