Good for Macy's. Eating disorders are not funny. Not only do these plates engage in body shaming for those wearing "mom jeans", but also perpetuate the shame often felt by people with anorexia/bulimia who might think the "skinny jeans" circle is too much food.

Get over it.

The vast majority of obese people are fat because they eat too much. They are self indulgent, irresponsible, gluttons. Don't pretend that promoting portion control for fat people is a bad thing. If a person is too stupid to eat healthy and exercise, then don't be shocked when someone calls them out on it and tells them that FAT IS NOT ATTRACTIVE at all. The SJW/PC notion that "accepting" all body types is normal is just plain BS. Being fat is mostly an indicator of poor lifestyle choices and plain laziness.

If a person has a genuine eating disorder that causes them to be fat, then that's different. But that's less than 1% of the population according to the National Institute for Mental Health. Here's the study for your information:

https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/stat...isorders.shtml

The rest of people are fat because they are lazy and eat too much. Body shaming isn't a real thing. It's just another SJW/PC excuse so that you can feel good about yourself in spite of the fact that you're an obese, self-indulgent, lazy, human being. In every place I've ever worked it's always the fat people who are the worst employees, have the least motivation and make excuses for their own lack of self discipline. If people tell you that you're fat, maybe you should put away the Doritos, get off your butt and go to the gym. It's not that hard. Do the rest of us a favor and help make our health insurance a little cheaper.

Acceptance, encouragement and love...while you hand the 500 pound person another pizza with some sugary carbonated goodness to wash it down.

"Thin-privilege." That's a new one on me. I like it! And, yes... I'm thin. 5'8", 130 lbs. The only time I topped 130 my entire life (I'm in my late 50s) was during my two pregnancies.

Oh well, can't make everyone happy. Life is full of offensive things if one is always looking for them. Others just choose to make life what they want it to be and move on...

Always been this way you just didn’t see it. This is why focus groups are hired, product testing is done at one or two locations before national rollouts. This is basic Big Box retail stuff. Someone complains and the corporate culture is dump the product.

Remember we don’t make most retail big box store stuff here, retail stores have plenty of other products to put on shelves so there is little need to keep a product in the store that may pizz off a customer. Retail stores are only care about moving product and cashing in.

Though I will comment, that the terminology should have been changed to something for men and women, just having them towards women is poor taste (pun!!), though I think some of the plates were more generic.

From the "Tweel" page on Wikipedia:
Quote:
The Tweel (a portmanteau of tire and wheel) is an airless tire design developed by the French tire company Michelin. Its significant advantage over pneumatic tires is that the Tweel does not use a bladder full of compressed air, and therefore cannot burst, leak pressure, or become flat. Instead, the Tweel's hub is connected to the rim via flexible polyurethane spokes which fulfil the shock-absorbing role provided by the compressed air in a traditional tire.

I'd think that the marketers behind the plate selling at Macy's had a pretty good idea of their consumer demographic.

Same reason you don't see ads for Viagra on episodes of "Say Yes to the Dress"

The generic ones would have worked the same (they had those), and not as much of a social target, but yes, the same demographic would have bought those too.

I think the concept is SMART, I eat most meals on plates other than dinner plates, my desserts in tiny 1 cup bowls, etc.

"Body positive" is intended for things that a person has no control: Scars, height, race, disabilities. No for a result of laziness and gluttony.
"Body positive" responsible for numerous deaths in USA, because of lack of social pressure.
