I never really thought of Bonanza as a family program.
But maybe Landon's Little House on the Prairie.

Or the Waltons.

But really, it is silly to try and turn back time. I prefer people put each other first rather than fairy tale figures.

Republican Senate candidate: We must put Jesus and God before everything else

That's OK for a personal commitment, but we don't have a theocracy.

He sounds principled. You may agree or disagree with his principles, but it is a tenet of Christianity & Judaism to put God first. Love your neighbor as yourself is 2nd.
You can admire him for applying his religious principles in his own life. But not when it comes to governing.

As I recall, JFK had to basically swear that he would not put obedience to the Pope ahead of his duty as President. We should have a similar test for Evangelicals - swear that they will not put the Bible ahead of the Constitution. If they can't do so, they may be great Christians but should not be in government.

It's the right wing fundamentalists that currently hold the reigns of power in the USA and that want to impose their faith on everyone else. As soon as Muslims get anything close to political power as a bloc (more than just a Muslim being elected to Congress from a random district), then we can have that discussion.
Whatever dude. Christians in this country, are becoming more accepting of Gay people every year, unlike the former Secular Countries of Turkey and Indonedia Indonesia that are heading backwards. At least you recognize Islam as being an upcoming threat as they gain political power in this country.

And a less-biased source: https://www.al.com/news/2019/07/tube...to-senate.html

This is the guy running for Alabama senator against Roy Moore. He has also stated that we need laws that being back more "family oriented" TV shows like Bonanza, Gunsmoke, and the Andy Griffith show and that we need to ban homosexual activity from being shown on television. He believes the top problems in our country today stem from the fact that we've "turned our backs on God" which in Republican speak means we give people freedom to not be fundamentalist Christians.

Do you agree or disagree with Tuberville? Is this what "small government" looks like? Is this what freedom looks like?
I'd vote for him.

I like programs like Will & Grace. It is probably the opposite of what those zealous guys have in mind. But does it cause any harm to society? Does it make people gay?

I would not mind if all those violent action movies disappeared, though.

That's odd? Christian Americans make up most of the country. Don't see them creating anything like Al-queda and ISIS. I know Democrats created the KKK and Democrat FDR created concentration camps for Japanese Americans. Maybe your referring to them?
