I get the local DC news and this is the first I have heard of this incident. Strange.

Obviously the media attempts to hide these events as much as possible, as it challenges the liberal narrative.
Black on white hate crimes are very common, but it dispels the leftist narrative. We are in "1984" in which truth is relative and "news" is just propaganda.
I have stayed in that hotel a couple of times and it is not in a "bad" part of town. When violence like this erupts in areas previously deemed "safe", it can have a negative impact on tourism. Not that DC would care, but the hotel might.
This is a case study, actually, of white privilege.....being demonstrated by you. Why? The reason being is that on one hand you see blacks as prone to violence, based upon statistics, yet, despite you seeing blacks as violent (I have read many of your post) you expect whites to be exempt. If a community has a high rate of crime.....and you enter the community and become a victim of a crime.....don't take it personal.
Maybe white people need to stay out of Chicago, based on your standards.

These guys are some street scum who are not sought after for the crime they committed.
What forum do you think you're on? You act like that never happens by anyone on this forum. It happens all the time. Have you called out every single person who turns every damn story into partisan politics? Would you like a few threads to go into so that you can ask the same question of posters in those threads?
I guarantee you those are not Republicans. I don't know if they are Democrats, registered, but I'll bet they have the mindset that they are owed something.
As to whether this is a hate crime or not, I strongly suspect that the crime was motivated by hate, but even though that's a good colloquial understanding of a hate crime, it might not meet the statutory requirement. I would have no problem with any means that would allow additional time for this kind of crime, but I doubt that going the hate crime route would be effective.
The style of attack is very much like what the Somali youths did when they were terrorizing the locals in Lewiston, Maine.
Picture this. A bunch of black youth are in the park having a water balloon fight. I white guys comes into the park and gets hit by a water balloon. What is the probability that he got hit with the balloon because he was white vs the probability that he got hit with the balloon because he got in the middle of a water balloon fight?
If you go into a high crime area.....crime happens to people. You should not have some sort of false expectation that your color should somehow be a shield that protects you from what others are experiencing. Again.....sounds like the expectation of white privilege.
