Former Republican Rep. Joe Walsh is calling for a primary challenger to take on President Donald Trump in 2020, as he is reckoning with his past controversial comments and apologizing for his role in helping elect an "unfit con man" to the presidency.
People are jumping ship faster these days trying to get away from Trump’s sinking ship.
I expect that his Twitter account has some sort of silly anti-Trump missive every 1/2 hour or so. Like most of these guys, he'll be worse than the man he claims to hate. I guess it's a way to make the CNN rounds as the 'good' Republican.
I saw Walsh on the news yesterday and thought it was an old tape of Epstein.
Isn't that Jeff Epstein? Weird how much they look alike.
Anyways, America was offered up the perfect boy scout for POTUS in 2012. The economy was a mess, the country was a mess, nothing was going right and the GOP had every expectation that Mitt Romney would win. Romney refused to get into mudslinging personal attacks. He never did drugs, never smoked, never drank, never cheated on his wife, never got a divorce, had a long history of working with Democrats to get stuff done, etc. And ... he lost anyways. Some would say he looked weak. Others said he looked fake. But these were trivial, pathetic, ridiculous complaints against an obvious genuinely good man. He too was accused of being an evil racist, fascist and the rest of the list of buzzwords. Full disclosure, I supported and voted for Ron Paul, so no I'm not a Romney fanboy pining over poor Mitt losing. Just pointing out facts. America probably should have elected Romney because he was a good decent man and Obama was doing a terrible job, particularly at the time.
Fast forward to 2016. The GOP pre-coronated Jeb Bush. The voters weren't having it. Against non-stop haranguing and alarmism from the GOP elites, they nominated Donald Trump anyways. Donald Trump is immoral, irreverent, feisty, angry, rude, obnoxious, etc. He's the polar opposite of Mitt Romney and he's exactly what you get when nice, decent and respectable are spun by the media as weaknesses and flaws. It's a given that any Republican nominee will be called racist and sexist and all the rest, so now you've got a guy who refuses to tip-toe around things apologizing for every non-PC word or deed. He is the direct result of PC cultural backlash and it probably means he wins again in 2020.
fantastic post, and repped.

I'm a legal immigrant, naturalized American citizen, college educated, small business owning woman. I also own a truck and a dog (although I don't let her ride in the back). Voting for Trump. Your contrived insults are amusing. In a low brow, desperate, delusional sort of way.
Strange that things like him making ugly comments about people from other countries, or his life long disdain for, and sexual abuse of, women, or his inability to have any conversation without attacking other people, does not bother you.
If I were a thinking, successful woman, I would be highly insulted by the things he says and the things he does to women. I am always surprised when some woman says she can accept that and actually vote for such a person. But, I guess that is why I am not a Psychiatrist.

What in blazes are you on about? If we all start a fundraiser for your moving expenses, will you actually move? Oklahoma is doing strange things to your logical thinking skills.

Mostly great post, but for the bolded. ANY politician gets these labels. Obama has been called a huge racist by the Trump base, as has Biden and for many of them "all libs". That is the nature of politics. Trump is a special kind of "racist, sexist and all the rest".
Otherwise, I am saddened to say you are probably exactly right. Basically, your post accurately says "good guys usually finish last". I do wonder if "good guys" will EVER have a chance after the age of Trump?

We're all surprised you can support the rogue's gallery of lunatics running on the Democrat side.

The irony is that the Democrats have been insulting those who don't agree with them for years. An argument can be made that Trump having the support he does is a direct result of the disdain that Democrats have shown for Americans.

I don't get it either. There are some democrats I would not have voted for. John Edwards was one. I didn't like him. He reminded me of a snake oil salesman. Then, it came out about his affair and the wife sick when he was cheating... I would have just voted the rest of the ticket.

He's talking about the elites and the media. THOSE institutions will smear any Republican as a racist, sexist, bigot, etc. The same treatment is never applied to Democrats. If you think Saint Obama was treated the same way as Romney or any other Republican, you are truly deluded.
