Or are we seriously supposed to compare the US with places such as Afghanistan and Iraq!? The answer is 'bleedin obvious' to everybody on this planet except it seems 'some' Americans themselves! I don't think that 'some' people in the US are really that stupid - I think its more to do with the brainwashing they suffer from childhood about 'freedom' and 'amendments' and all that bollox!
It’s relevant because people murder people. Guns don’t.

Banning guns isn’t going to stop people from murdering others.

No but it will make it a lot more difficult, personal and take more planning.

Its a bit like arguing with a North Korean about Kim jon un (or whatever he's called), they are too 'blinded' by years of brainwashing to make any sense.

Because people such as you focus on what you're told to focus on...all those others things kill more, but since you don't care....well, here you are killing it...pun intended.....

This site says around 2800 people were killed by alcohol impaired drivers, this number does not include the drunk driver nor their passengers, with those added, it is over 10,000.

To compare with murder victims of firearms, an average of 500 people a year are killed by rifles and shotguns combined. If you even add the non-stated firearms, that is around another 1900 people killed a year.
Drink Driving.Acohol impaired drivers regulations are subject to vigoroud enforced and the police often do roadside checks and anyone caught can be impriosoned and have their licence taken off them.

Perhaps guns should be similarly regulated and licensed.

As for drink drive deaths they do not account for more deaths than guns.

Guns are very regulated in the U.S. We already have 22,000 gun laws on the Federal, State, and Local levels. Much more than for driving. Also, illegal use of a firearm will get you serious Federal JAIL TIME, guaranteed. That is the law, however, our politicians encourage District Attorneys to plea down charges to make deals and get quick convictions so sometimes these criminals are back on the street too soon.

Then you have that little issue with our U.S. Constitution which guarantees our right to firearms ownership, and carry. It is VERY clear yet has been abused. If you want to regulate firearms EVEN MORE, you must amend the Constitution, or illegally circumvent it using corrupt politicians and corrupt courts, which has already happened.

The Constitution and bill of rights explain how the people are to deal with this if Govt should ever abuse its power in relation to guns/gun laws....

the problem is, too many people have been 'brainwashed' under the guise of safety/security, so they take the side of govt! Plus, the average American today is not really that patriotic, if it came down to it, they would obey and comply, just to save their own skin, and its no surprise either, the way our lives are today, working, debt, etc, most people are not in a position to be patriotic, its just too risky for them, they may end up in jail, loose their job, income, family, etc.

In your opinion, what makes America so vastly different to all other first world countries when it comes to murder rate?

They are clearly not that well regulated given the numbers of massacres and gun deaths when compsared to other first world westernised countries.

You hit the nail on the head there. Odds are good that "others" will be the victims of the gun culture, not their family. This comes done to a selfish view of the world versus a responsible view of the world. In other words, a matter of values. Some people value feeding their gun fetish over the value of human life. This is not complicated - the conflict is crystal clear.
