How about a federal judge make the ruling like was done to compel Nixon to turn over evidence?
Would be pushed to the SCOTUS, who is likely to side with the president, especially given the lack of legitimacy that the unofficial official inquiry has since they refused to do an authorization vote like has literally always been done before in presidential impeachment inquiries.
If Pelosi thought she could win that court battle, this would be a very short disagreement.

LOL! You are totally confused by your own party and leader. The House's Role
Quote:
The House brings impeachment charges against federal officials as part of its oversight and investigatory responsibilities. Individual Members of the House can introduce impeachment resolutions like ordinary bills, or the House could initiate proceedings by passing a resolution authorizing an inquiry. The Committee on the Judiciary ordinarily has jurisdiction over impeachments, but special committees investigated charges before the Judiciary Committee was created in 1813. The committee then chooses whether to pursue articles of impeachment against the accused official and report them to the full House. If the articles are adopted (by simple majority vote), the House appoints Members by resolution to manage the ensuing Senate trial on its behalf. These managers act as prosecutors in the Senate and are usually members of the Judiciary Committee. The number of managers has varied across impeachment trials but has traditionally been an odd number. The partisan composition of managers has also varied depending on the nature of the impeachment, but the managers, by definition, always support the House’s impeachment action.
They just want to keep investigations going forever to imply impropriety...a vote would kill that. They know they have nothing so they'll just continue to sling mud hoping something sticks. They decided they were going to impeach Trump the day he was elected...they just keep searching for something to impeach him on.

Poor trump, always the victim. Makes a perfect phone call but doesn't want congress to learn more about his perfect phone call.
BTW, Pelosi did not go for impeachment until this at which point, Pelosi had no choice.
Because if they voted on it, they would have to make it a more fair and open process and there's no way Pelosi wants that. Without a vote she can continue the unofficial official inquiry that she can have complete control over.
They don't want a formal vote because it could negatively affect them in their local districts. They just want to keep it going for campaign and re-election purposes.
Because investigations don't have to put up for a vote.
Why not ask the same about all the Wars and everything else?
Actual Impeachment probably needs a vote. But not investigations. Yeah, I know, you want to discredit it. But it won't work......because there is a there there and everyone knows it. You do too. You just don't want to hold a crook responsible for his actions.
They are not ready and it is driving the GOP members bonkers. The longer they work the more Trump adds to the charges.
Today a lot of the GOP wackos did their best to get on camera so they could show Trump they are good boys.
The behind closed doors using staff interviews not giving GOP members a chance to whine on TV
