Yes, if they have a warrant to do so. They have a warrant to search a phone looking for evidence of a probable crime. So they seize it for that purpose.

They are pulling out the stops to get President Trump. They want Trump behind bars. Lindell is a close friend of Trump. They want to go through is phone on a fishing expedition to see what they can get on Trump.

It is unlawful and pure evil, but that is where we are with the corrupt FBI and DOJ today.

The ends justify the means.

What crime? Anyone have a legitimate crime he's likely to be guilty of? Anyone curious?

Disagreeing with the government isn't a crime.

He's a key member of Trump's misinformation campaign and he needs to be held accountable for his role in spreading lies about the 2020 election. Dominion should take all his money and he should be thrown in jail, along with Roger Stone and Steve Bannon.

According to Lindell they are looking for evidence on some guy named Dennis Montgomery. I never heard of him, but suspect he is well known to forum denizens.

So you think being on the wrong side of a political disagreement is grounds for taking a man's money and throwing him in jail?

Are you an American?

Here is some info on Montgomery.

As part of the attempt to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election, The American Report published stories in which Montgomery claimed a supercomputer called the Hammer, running software called Scorecard, was used to steal votes from Trump.[26] Montgomery's claims were repeated by Mike Lindell[27] and Sidney Powell.[28] Chris Krebs, then the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, characterized the claims as "nonsense" and a "hoax".

From Wikipedia

Apparently he is a crony of Lindell.

Yes.

It's called a search warrant. There's legal remedies in cases where say the law enforcement lies to a judge to obtain a search warrant. Otherwise it's absolutely fine just as it's always been.
