Is 7.62x39 steel core still legal for sale in the US? I know that steel core ammo can not be sold for any cartridge that is used in a handgun. That's why .223 steel core is so hard to come by, there are .223 handguns. I don't know the status on 7.62x39 or 51-there are certanly handguns available in these cartridges (TC Contender and Encore??).

Right. If you live in a farm and don't have kids or guests in other rooms, I'd say that AR-15 is a wonderful weapon for home defence. M-60 is even better.

You must have very small rooms in your home or very close neighbors...

It's been banned from import. You can legally buy the components and make your own for rifle rounds.

"with cartels employing automatic weapons and grenades"

Haven't automatic weapons been banned in the US since at least 1930?
And grenades? Were they ever legal to own?

How is banning semi-auto rifles in the US going to curb the use of automatic weapons and hand grenades in Mexico?

Place them as far apart as you want.

I'm just saying you should test first, and not just believe some NRA publication, or you might regret your laziness for the rest of your life.

Shhhhhh!!!!

You are not to question the federal government or concern yourself with logic....

Actually a person can own an automatic weapon,it just takes jumping through a lot of hoops and paying a tax...

Mexican gangs may be armed with automatic weapons that originated in the USA....however they were provided by the US gov't to Mexico.

Again, it was the FBI testing this.

But use your own tests of shooting through plywood placed close together if it makes you feel better....

Again,if such calibers are so dangerous in urban environments, why do LE agencies regularly issue them to its officers???
