My Vue is a 5 speed, and still gets around 30 mpg. (My 87 MR-2 can get mid-30's but only on the freeway, at reasonable speeds.........)..

Im not fond of many of the newer toyota's......they are getting way too big!!!

"Me and my Rushy"? You assume much. The companies should have sorted out their own houses. If your method of doing business is not working, seems to me that it needs to be overhauled to be more competitive. Not bailed out and taken over by the Feds courtesy of our tax dollars. Can you honestly tell me that you don't have a problem with our tax dough being used to buy the government total control over the industries in this country? My personal alternative would have been for the Unions and the corporate fat cats to to agree to take a wage hit to stay afloat. No more porky perks for the suits topped off by massive executive bonuses for spending the company into oblivion and Union workers getting over this more for less attitude as they get paid 32 bucks an hour to turn two screws in a tailight on an assembly line. Thats a good start. Don't assume I'm a Dittohead out of the gate pard. Slinging around crass retorts like your quoted post gives me a rash. So you and your beloved smooth talking deity in the White House have an exit plan for all this printing of money? Or is labeling and terse commentary all you have?

Just not into the look of driving a big box down the highway I guess, and yes, Toyota has been sort of supersizing over the years.

My GMC truck is tinny ... kind of like how the Yugos and the first Civics were back in the day.

My wife has been driving saturn from the beginning and I think she wants a change. I was a Dodge man for many years ... and owned Fords for a number of years too.

Since the mid 90's I've been driving GM stuff ...

I think that with all of this hooplah in Washington over GM, I would prefer to go with a company that is not only established, but responsible as well ... my purchase of a new Toyota will still be in support of American jobs too, as the Toyotas that sell here are made here.

You didn't claim that all politicians were douches. If you had, I might not have bothered to call you on it. You claimed that all of them were anti-American liars who cared only about themselves. That's horse-crap...

Since so many ordinary people can't/won't see past the spin, they are all forced to one dgeree or another to play the spin game. If you aren't able to see or even to imagine any deeper than that, it isn't me who is in need of anyone's pity...

How the heck do you wish more job losses and more heartache for Americans just to stick it to the President?

I'm sorry you lose all respect and credibility when all you stand by is that everything George W Bush did was great and every single thing Obama does or has done is evil and the worst thing for America....
C'mon!

Anyone care to explain the rationale behind this insanity?

You're preaching to the choir...LOL...Rush is probably having a reaction to the oxycontin withdrawl.

Do you deny that?
How can anyone not argue that the Iraq War is a huge mistake, or Bush's spending policies were a huge mistake.
Oh hey how about doing something to stop the Mortgage Financial Crisis?
This country was in the worst shape in a very long time at the end of Bush's term.

How can you NOT blame that on Bush? I mean if it is NOT the fault of the President and leader of the U.S. when the United States is doing bad. THEN WHO FAULT IS IT? Why have a President at ALL?
How can you not argue that Bush was a horrible President?

And I am not arguing that Obama is FDR, Lincoln or Teddy BUT the jury is STILL OUT. No reasonable person knows just yet. He is 6 months into office. Wait until results start rolling in before you cry that Obama's policy is a failure.
I do know that he SEEMS smarter, more engaged, and willing to help America then GW Bush was....
Go listen to all Bush's state of the unions and speeches; to him We were doing fine in Iraq, fine in the economy, oh America was just doing so great!

I know its hard for you extremist but how about giving Obama a chance?
This was not directed to me, but I'll put my 2 cents in. I am not giving Obama a chance. I thought he was a left wing radical/socialist marxist when he was running and I am convinced that he is now. I look at how he is dismantling our economic system and it makes me want to puke.

Barry does not SEEM smarter than Bush to me. He SEEMS smarter to a lot of liberals because they have fallen for his game. I've run into plenty of people like this. They aren't particularly smart, but they do know how to game, I think the word is, their "mark" or "pidgeon". He's like a good used car salesman. I'm not buying and I hope he fails.
