I'm White so I didn't take the poll.

I'm not Black so I didn't do anything when they came after the Blacks.

I'm not gay so I didn't do anything when they came after the gays.

I'm not Jewish so I didn't do anything when they came after the Jews.

Wait a minute! Who's going to be around to do anything when they come after me!

And according to the state of Virginia, a black man had the same rights to marry as a white man did; a black mans right to marriage was not being denied, since a white man also could not marry outside of his race, so a law that required a black man to only marry a black woman was considered to be just and legal. The SCOTUS settled that once and for all with Loving vrs. Virginia. It will be the same with gay marriage, it is just a matter of time and patience.

I guess not. Didn't you know, the United States is only Black and White.

That's a very stupid statement... when were gays enslaved for being gay or denied the right to vote or mingle with others? Gays could just blend into society and have all the privileges their skin color afforded them. Surely they have been persecuted but to equate their suffering with that of Blacks in America is just plain ignorant.

That said, I think there are parallels with the civil rights period of the '60s... this is a much more surgical issues (marriage) as opposed to general equal rights that Blacks fought for but I do think it is comparable, albeit much narrower.

I think it is really rude and hypocritical for blacks to be voting against the civil right of Gays. That is just wrong of them. I guess they didn't learn empathy when they were segregated and sprayed down by fire hoses.

So i guess in that case, we should vote to give ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS amnesty then? After all, it would be WRONG of us to believe otherwise according to you.... right?

By the way, tell me when ANYOTHER race, religion or sex were sprayed with water hoses, hung from a tree and set on fire, denied their civil rights (not marriage). I'll wait for your oh so wise knowledge on the empathy and morals of what Blacks should and should not do.

Right, see there you go displacing your anger, you are not angry with gay people, you are angry with white people for spraying your people down with water hoses. Gay people didn't do that to blacks. Gay people just want to be accepted and they want all discrimination to stop. They want acceptance and the ability to succeed without being impeded with political and religious bias and BS. It's that easy to understand. Thanks.
