PHOENIX - The Arizona Senate has given final approval to a bill that would allow people with concealed weapons permits to carry a gun into a business that serves alcohol.
The 19-8 vote completes legislative action on the bill and sends it to Republican Gov. Jan Brewer. She has not said whether she will sign it, but she has long been a supporter of gun rights.
Try looking at the obvious. Several states that allow people with concealed carry permits to carry in places that serve alcohol. Is there an issue with CCW holders getting drunk and shooting other bar patrons? I've never heard of a case in my state.
While the CCW holder is allowed to carry in a place that serves alcohol, from the article "The measure would ban drinking while packing...". Why is it even an issue?
If you are a law abiding citizen with a CCW, you will not take your firearm into a place where it is forbidden.
Now that these places are forbidden, a CCW holder can now take his/her weapon inside with them, but they are now forbade to drink alcohol.
What exactly is the difference? Now the CCW holder is not having his/her 2nd Amendment rights infringed upon, and he can now protect himself if need be, on the way from the door to the car.
