Yes, we are all different and that is what makes this country great.
I simply think that some blacks want to stand out (wearing their pants down to their kneecaps). I work with a black lady that hates white people, prefers to be called african-american but (HONESTLY) did not know where Africa was on the world map.....A (white) co-worker had to show it to her.

That means she's stupid. Nothing more.
But she still has the right to claim Africa....even though she doesn't know where it is.
Because the NAACP says you're colored!! Are you aware of what "NAACP" stands for?????? Apparently not. Not surprising though. A local news network asked a lot of coloreds what it stood for and most didn't know.

The NAACP was founded 100 years ago at a time when saying someone was colored was acceptable. The acronym is widely accepted since no one utilzes the full name today. I really don't see what the NAACP has to do with how someone describes their culture though.
I find the term extremely offensive. Putting "American" last gives the appearance that the first allegiance is to "African". This reinforces a negative stereotype and does nothing to instill pride in being an American that the black youth sorely need.
So you're saying that the leading black organization is using unacceptable terminology in their title?? Maybe you should tell them! How is anyone supposed to keep up? It's one thing today, and then tomorrow, it's something else and everybody is whining and oh so sensitive! Incredible.
