Seriously. That woman was pure emotion, not an iota of rational thought.

"What are you concerned that he may talk about?"

<3-second vacant stare as she stops to think why it is she's concerned, apparently for the first time.>

"- Socialism!"

Even her husband was cracking up.

Ouch. That's going to leave a mark.

I think there is an element of parents who don't want their kids to see a successful black man who is the leader of their country. They want to perpetuate the idea that blacks are lazy and criminal, and Obama spoils that delusion. I'm not saying that's all that's behind this furor, but I suspect it plays a part. If Hillary had been elected, you'd hear a lot of wailing about her being a conniving liar, and there'd be accusations of conspiracies, but I don't think people would be crying at the terror of having the president speak to the kids about doing well in school. And if Palin had been VP and done this, heavens forbid, the parents would have wet their pants in happy anticipation. You wouldn't hear a peep about "the federal government shouldn't set lesson plans."

That was Gephardt, a professional politician of the opposition party. I disagree with his objections back then, but he was playing politics with the issue, because that's what politicians do.

Did you see any reports about liberal or Democrat parents crying about it back then, or threatening to keep their kids out of school?

How would the righties feel if Rush Limbaugh were giving the speech, and asking the young ones to "pitch in, study up, and be the best they can" ?

Bubba : "hey jim bob, your kid gonna listen to Rush tomorrow ?"
Jim Bob : "Does beer make ya burp ? Hell, yeah, he's gonna listen, or he won't git no toys fer christmas"

Don't worry Dick will come around. Just like it took having a gay daughter for him to stop being a homophobe, will just wait for one of his grandkids to drop out then he'll come back to our side. He's not the quickest of learners but at least eventually he gets it.

Maybe people shouldn't breed if they're that fearful for their offspring.
Sheesh, they need to grow up.

Obama could read a speech given by Ronald Reagan word-for-word, and they'd still say he's trying to indoctrinate and brainwash their children. They're borderline lunatics.

At that thought, a bunch of old right wing geezers just suddenly dragged their wives off to the bedroom!

Didn't even need viagra!

A bunch of old right wing hags just walked out the bedroom wearing fishnets, high leather boots, and cracking cat-o-nines!
