It's a bunch of BS. New King James Version is a modern revision, what you quoted does not exist in other versions.
I have to disagree with you here - The words in my King James are not identical to those of the New King James, but the meaning is the same. Thing is, I don't necessarily believe them because they are not the words of Christ Jesus. They are instead the words of whichever author wrote those parts of the Bible (most likely Paul) and I don't believe they always lined up with the teachings of the Christ. Throughout history there have been altogether too many kings, queens and outright dictators who have used those verses to claim unlimited power over the people they were to govern. But Chatteress is correct about those verses being there.
There have been a number of death threats against all the Presidents of the US, which is not right, but was there ever any other time when people started putting a president's name in the Bible & quoting that God says they will die?
You reap what you have sown. The Left doesn't have a leg to stand on with this issue.
Do you justify crazy righties that want to harm Obama because there were crazy lefties that wanted to harm Bush in the past?
Shouldn't you be more mature than that?
This article traces the origin of this whole Psalm 109:8 brouhaha. Everyone please read it. It is from the Christian Science Monitor, a newspaper noted for its impartiality.
please explain to me where in that verse it says he will be murdered?
unless you are putting words into the verse that are not there, I just dont see it.
Here is a verse for those "Christians".
Matthew 5:21-22 (New International Version)
Murder
21"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder,[a] and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' 22But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,[c]' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.
Psalms 109:8 was taken out of context and God NEVER commands us to pray for the death of ANYONE. This "conservative" group is obviously NOT a Christian group as Jesus tells us to love others, even those we consider our "enemies." The Bible is very clear that we are also to submit to those in authority over us and pray for them for wisdom. Here are some Bible passages for further reference taken from the New King James Version.
Jesus tells us to love one another (this includes loving our leaders):
John 13:34-35: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
The Bible tells us to pray for our leaders:
1 Timothy 2: 1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
The Bible tells us to subject ourselves to those in authority over us because all authority comes from God (regardless of political party).
Romans 13:1-2: 1Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
Titus 3:1-2 1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.
I would have to agree here. Anyone, or any organization, that criticizes our leader is NOT Christian!

Show me the "Kill Bush" bumper stickers and t-shirts. Your photoshopped protest signs are unconvincing, to say the least.
