Really?
I find it right biased.
They did an article on ADM a few years ago with an "underwriting" by ADM.

Do you really think that advertising doesn't affect them?

I quit listening them for a few years because they were bending over backwards to give the right an opportunity to be heard without presenting the liberal side.
When their funding got pulled they became and stayed over the line right leaning.

you can tell it's designed for liberal elistist types. Notice how they don't cover sports unless it's something negative about sports?

Sports are "beneath" elitist liberal types.

Yes. I am. The SCOTUS determined it was ok for them to have a voice. NPR, on the other hand, should not be broadcasting political statements, as it's a government funded entity.

You don't have to tell lies to be biased. Merely choosing what you want to make it into the news reflects bias.

I listen to NPR from time to time but am no expert. I suspect their choice of news topics reflects a liberal bias. For example, did they choose to highlight the Van Jones issue? Did they interview anybody who could relate the facts about our current unemployment rate and how Obama said his stimulus would prevent this from happening? Are they focusing on the war deaths now like they did 2 years ago? etc, Etc. Maybe somebody has done a study on their selection of topics.

I am not naive enough to believe that media is always straight down the middle, but I don't find NPR being that partial. Heck, they are funded by the Cato Institute, which is a pro-capitalist, libertarian institution.

There news features seem pretty open to all interpretations, and how can their artistic programming (jazz programming, Thistle and Shamrock, etc.) even be considered political at all? Any thoughts?
Why do many conservatives think NPR is left wing biased?

Because it IS impartial, deals in facts, gets ALL sides of a story, AND is EDUCATIONAL

How can anybody not think NPR is left-leaning biased? That's like saying, "How can liberals think Fox News is right-wing biased?"

What I want to know is: are there any media out there that's truly moderate or at least presents both sides of a discussion? Please list any newspapers, TV, web links etc. US or foreign. I need to update my news sites anyway.

I like NPR. It is the only US word radio (of all those one can receive over the Internet) worth listening to. (There is just one program that irritates me as the journalist speaks so slowly that it hurts.)
NPR may receive some government dollars, but compared to, say, Britain's BBC it is very little.

I've yet to hear NPR broadcast any statements promoting one candidate over another.

Have you?

Can you provide some examples?

Do you even listen to NPR?
