The segregation of bathrooms happened in the Roman empire1,700 years of bathing in public in separate accommodations is a long tradition. About time we stirred things up a bit.

There was a reason that there is a long tradition of seperate rest rooms for men and women.
Stop trying to fix things that aren't broken, SIMPLY to claim you fixed something.
Um, you were spot on until this line. The space required to facilitate a urinal is a much smaller footprint than a stall with a door. Even if the spacing between urinals stays the same, the distance required behind the urinal is much smaller than a stall.
In nearly every building I have ever designed or worked on, more square footage is allocated to female restrooms than male. That square footage has nothing to do with a plumbing stack if designed correctly.
And in every building I'VE worked on, the restrooms have been identical.

The little girls' room won't be just for little girls anymore, if the Maine Human Rights Commission has its way.
The commission is taking heat over a controversial proposal to ban schools from enforcing gender divisions in sports teams, school organizations, bathrooms and locker rooms. It says forcing a student into a particular room or group because of his or her biological gender amounts to discrimination.
One thing we know, Faux doesn't report news. I'm sure this is a complete misrepresentation.

No. But I do see one way out of this economic mess with out have run away inflation and defaulting on the debt.

I was applauding stirring things up for the sake of stirring things up makes people stop and think and question long held beliefs. Most of the time it is found that what has gone before wasn't the worst possible solution that could've been adopted. But sometimes it was and then it is time for a change.

Are you freaking serious. I don't even know where to begin with this.
EDIT: Well, separate unisex bathrooms might be a possible option. As previous posters said, transgender or otherwise confused students might appreciate those. But as for banning partitions on bathrooms, I think that's simply ridiculous. Those partitions aren't there to be gender discriminatory, they're there for respect of students' privacy! Most girls are not going to be comfortable doing their business in the presence of guys, and vice-versa. Plus the more disturbed individuals out there might use this as a chance to harass the opposite sex.
I hate to bring up this example, but if ever there was anything that should be "separate but equal," it would be this matter.

That would be a very intimidating scenario, especially considering the cruelty of many teens, bullying, etc. When I read your post, I immediately thought of the girl who committed suicide in Mass after experiencing bullying from both genders and was gang-raped.
