I've not watched Snyder's team in two years. As far as I'm concerned, the organization Washington Redskins and all its history is a memory. I can't think of another sport franchise that has been screwed with to such an extent as to make the team vanish without vanishing completely.
Yes, it's sad so many former long-time fans don't even follow casually now.
How did Rivera not know that Washington had the chance to be eliminated on Sunday?? Me sitting on the couch at home on the ESPN playoff machine knew Washington had the chance to be eliminated, how the hell does the head coach not know the same thing??
Does he put Wentz in if he knows their playoff lives were at stake?
My opinion, Heinicke should've never been pulled. He's 12-11-1 over the last two seasons.. which is respectably healthy for a dysfunctional franchise. Heinicke is always inexplicably playing on borrowed time in Washington. He turned the season around for Washington and was basically given no credit.. Commanders' success with Heinicke was basically attributed to every factor except Heinicke.. defense, run game, etc. But Wentz had effectively the same defense & running backs but couldn't win.
No justifiable reason why Heinicke was pulled after he helped put Commanders in playoff contention.
Comically, I saw today (NBCSports) that Logan Thomas described Riverjoke Ron as a 'great coach.'
I won't defend them pulling him for Wentz.. ,That being said.. The offense was fairly poor under Heinicke.. But.. They won. Winning covers up a WHOLE LOT of flaws.. And.. There were a fair number of flaws.
So.. You know.. Toss that around.. Reminds me very much of the Jason Campbell years. Look.. Decent QB.. If everything went perfect.. You'd win the game.
Most of the games Heinicke won.. They were won by one score. Frankly, so were most of the losses. Generally, you're not putting up over 25 points, so your defense had better lock it down.
Heinicke is a great guy. Seems to be a great teammate.. Someone you want on your team. One of the best, if not THE best backup in the league.
He's.. Really not a starting QB that you're going to have massive success with. He can probably sneak you into the playoffs here and there.. Not winning a super bowl with him. Just like.. Jason Campbell.

I was a hardcore for over 40 years. Taped and rewatched the big wins, that sort of guy. Last year I had had enough. Learning of Snyder intimidated the victims of sexual harassment and then seeing Rodger Goodell do everything he could to protect such a man put me over the edge. I gave up my team and tried, really tried, to become a Ravens fan. But you can't undo 40 years of fandom and once I learned that he was selling I got back in. But until he is gone I'm back but sleeping in the guest bedroom.
I want Bezos but would be fine with Harris. One found a way to shoot himself into space and the other has a good track record as the owner of a professional sports franchise. I sure don't want that guy from Houston, he is a mini-Snyder and I'm pissed that he is still in the running.
