Life is work. You work today, you would have worked 1,000,000 years ago too, hunting and building shelter all day.

You think homelessness is enjoyable? Try it. Try life on the streets. I haven't been homeless but I work with the homeless all the time. Do you know what it is like to get stabbed for whatever cash you scrounged up that day?

It sounds like you are idolizing a lifestyle that doesn't exist. Maybe speak to your college's counseling services.

I asked for advice. Offer some or take yourself elsewhere.

My advice:

Find something else to do, other than trolling internet forums with fake sob stories.

Several have suggested you get some serious counseling and that's really the best advice of all in my opinion.

Wow, am I the only one who thinks it is a privelege to be able to work and contribute to society in America, and be able to clothe myself and provide shelter without struggling. Imagine you are in a Middle Eastern country, and didn't have this right? Or was in India, part of the caste system without any way of succeeding in rank. We have it much better than you think, even if you have to go work for "the man" as we used to call it. There are things everyone has to do which they do not like. You think your parents enjoyed changing your diaper?

OK, my advice is: stop looking for the Easy button.
I wonder what would happen to you had your mother had the same attitude you do.

How would you contribute?
I'll probably end up writing a book or two...idk maybe that doesn't count as contributing.

I also like thinking of ways to improve systems...social systems.

But I don't want to have to do these things. I don't care about money...I'm dead anyway. I just want to make sure my time on earth was utilized well. And I would have thought I get to make that determination? Is it not my place to decide how I get to spend my time?

And don't go on about how I do get to decide...because it's like in the godfather, you're making me an offer I can't refuse. It's still not fine.

Whatever. I'll put in my 40 years because that's my only choice, but how do I stop hating it?

At work, people ask me why I'm so quiet. It's because I hate it...and not that job specifically. I just hate not being able to spend my time how I want to.

Yea, a lot of people want this same imaginary lifestyle. Get to the back of the line. It's going to be a while.

.
You need experience behind you to do any of these things - maybe you need a job in the social system, or work for a publisher or newspaper so you can learn how to do a few of the things you like??

Start a blog and document your quest to live without working.

It the surest way these days to rapid and useless fame.

You do have serious emotional problems that need addressing, though. Find a therapist.
