Made me laugh Kathryn. I mean seriously, I'm in the same boat with holiday eating, but such an utterly first world problem.... we have so much food that we have to TRY not to eat it all.....

Very Roman.

Well, you can always freeze them.

But yeah, diet ( and exercise) seems to be in my future, too. Might even need to shell out some $ for some classes too, as I’m so unmotivated right now. Dang aging metabolism!

I've eaten frozen cake because I'm too greedy to let it thaw. That probably wouldn't work for me. :/

What is that - 4000 calories? Who even knows at this point?

On Christmas Day, I ate cinnamon rolls for breakfast, and sausage, and then had Christmas dinner (but hey, NO SECONDS) and THEN had popcorn and an Icee at the movies! MY GOSH. No wonder my pants are tight! I am surprised I can even fit into them at this point.

One good thing, which I am currently regretting but not for long - I gave away all my "fat clothes" earlier this year after I lost 30 pounds. So at least I am not back into those sizes, but the clothes I bought at my skinniest are definitely too uncomfortable to wear right now - and they also don't look good on me.

Thank goodness for big sweaters.
So far I have kept my holiday weight gain to around 2-3 lbs. since Erev Thanksgiving, the biggest offenders being the latkes around the middle of December. And a big Chinese dinner on Tuesday. Still New Years Eve to go.

I met my personal goals today. I bought some vegetables, and I stored all the Santas I pulled out before Christmas. I set a pretty low bar for myself, I know.

Went out with friends to an event, all of them are my age or a year or two younger than me. Yet I was the only one who got carded, and of course when I switched purses I forgot my drivers license. They all ordered yummy cocktails, while I sat there drinking apple juice. >:|

Another one - my bathroom door is falling off the hinges and the landlord is off gallivanting around Poland for another week, so we have to crap with the door open. :/

Bully for you - I'm scared to get on the scales!

I am going to a little get together New Years Eve and the hostess called me today and said, "Oh just bring that fantastic crab dip and some crackers and a bottle of wine." OK, what is that - another 4000 calories? Because you know I'm not going to just have two crackers and dip and one glass of wine - like I SHOULD do. Oh, no, it's all or nothing for me! GO BIG OR GO HOME.

I did not meet my very low personal goals today because in addition to my goal of going to a matinee by myself (which I DID accomplish - Mary, Queen of Scots by myself because my husband would rather gouge out his eyes with a hot poker than go see something like that, but I digress), I also set the goal of moving my Christmas decorations out of my living room and at least onto my dining room table where they will sit reproachfully for a day or two till I can't stand it any longer and I haul them to the attic. But did I do this? Oh, no. In fact, I went in the opposite direction - I bought some wintery (not really CHRISTMASSY but wintery) items on clearance at World Market and PUT THOSE IN MY LIVING ROOM in addition to the Christmassy things.

So I am definitely going backwards in both my checking account and my personal goals. Which, as you say, are pretty low anyway.
