It is possible that counseling and medical care may help you see that this issue is robbing you of your life and assist in getting you on to a road where you can find confidence and self-worth. It is your life ( and that is important) that is at stake here. It is hard to ask for help, but finding courage to do so, may reap rewards and success you have not dreamed of for awhile. Start with student services/medical services? Perhaps they can direct you to the professional care that your life deserves. Good luck!
I'm a 20 something year old male and am afraid of women
Here's how I do things
- I never frequent establishments where I know women will be present (cafes, malls, movie theatres, etc)
- Never go to clubs or parties
- Never commute to college during prime hours. Only in the evening, early morning or weekends
- One of the reasons I take online classes is to avoid women
- I never make eye contact with them, stick to looking at the ground
- I avoid them whenever possible. When I see a girl or a group of girls, I get out of dodge to the best of my ability
- I never apply for job positions where I know I'll be interacting with lots of women. If I do have to work with women, I avoid them and only speak to them briefly when I have to
- I wear hoodies so women can't see my face
I was made fun of and mocked by women relentlessly growing up. I am ugly, ethnic, short and scrawny. I have no self confidence as a young adult and I'm very socially awkward. This is where the fear of women comes from
For a full time career, I plan on working with computers so not a lot of physical interaction
Move to Saudi Arabia. You won't see any women there. All you'll see are men (with beards), and tent-covered blobs walking several paces behind them.
On a more serious note . . . OP, do you want to interact with women, or would you rather just avoid them? If you want to have any kind of connection with women, you will need to seek out therapy, as your condition seems way more severe than a simple case of nervousness. But if you have no interest in being around women, then move to Alaska (lowest ratio of women to men, I believe) and seek out a traditionally male profession, like oil-field worker.
Op, do you want to keep living this way? Or do you wish you weren't so controlled by your anxiety? Anxiety disorders can be highly disruptive to a person's life. They are not something to take lightly.
The good news is that there are lots of ways to treat anxiety - the only key is that you will need some motivation.
So before we get into anything else, we need to determine where you are on the scale of motivation.
Essentially there are 5 stages of motivation a person can be at with regard to a problem:
If nothing else, maybe you could try reading this short article on the stages and using it to determine which stage you think you are at with regard to this anxiety problem. Then come back and tell us.
I realize that might be a bit much to do, but I can tell you that the advice you get will be much, much better if we know what stage you are at.
PS: if you want to skip the intro on that article, just scroll down about 1/4th of the page to "Stage 1: Precontemplation" to begin reading about the stages.

I would persue a career in Hi Tech.....specialize in writing code....Make gobs of money....after a few million in the bank, the hotties are easy to come by if the word gets out that you are generous.....even if you have a personality like a wet mop...your appearance doesn't matter either.......hot women's erogenous zone is your busy wallet.....

You know how I got over this going to a female therapist who is also attractive. You have no choice but to talk to her. Turned out it wasn't so bad the fear is all in your head.
