The vast majority of the time a person can take out their own stitches, but if there is any sign of infection and something just doesn't look or feel right, have a medical professional do it for you. It will be money well spent in the long run. That said, tweezers and a nail clipper will do the trick.

Tweezers and nail clippers might work unless you have a underlying health condition... Then maybe it's not such a good idea. Ya think?

I don't disagree, but if you have an underlying medical condition that is severe enough to make stitch removal dangerous- chances are it's no longer underlying and you are well aware of the problem

Aside from that, if you think there is a chance it is infected, definitely let a Dr remove them and check things out.

If your husband is on blood thinners the last place you should be going is walk in clinic associated with a chain store pharmacy, you make an appt. at your doctor's office for that.

We're going to have to find a dr. that takes our insurance first. Sorry, it's been a really long bad three weeks and I'm just a little cranky.

Exactly. Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble with this, but I definitely would advise against these chain stores as well.
