FYI in almost all stores Harris Teeter included the bogo items can be bought in singles for the same price. You dont have to buy 5 packs of soda. If you buy 2 the price is calculated based on sale price. They want you to buy 2 you do not have to it is more of a suggestion.

So for the buy 2, get 3 do they give you a pack and a half free if you buy one?
Actually for the B2G3 you do have to buy all five at HT. But yes, BOGOs are just 50% so you only need to buy one.

You actually do have to buy 2 for the B2G3 offers (says it in the fine print on the circular). It's only the BOGO items that ring as half price if you only get one.
Although I like Harris Teeter, I too rarely shop there for anything not on a great special or sale. Although I will shop WalMart for household items and such I absolutely hate the idea of WalMart grocery benefiting from their demise...for years they've lowered prices on some things while raising prices a few cents here and there on others!
Honestly though, my first thought when I saw this thread was "Can we get Wegmans now!?"
Harris-Teeter is clean and friendly, but their marketing attracts coupon junkies who want the triple coupons and super doubles.
As a marketing degree holder (BBA) before going into IT, it is well known that the margins in groceries doesn't allow the store to multiply coupon value and only be paid for the original value by the manufacturer.
H-T then marks up other items to stupid levels to compensate. In addition, the super couponers frequently clean out an item for a week when a sale comes up and a coupon is also around. These people aren't looking to support H-T and only swoop in like vultures when special coupon multiplication is announced.
I've contacted H-T HQ many times indicating I'd gladly pay 10-15% for H-T service but not 50% or more. Thomas' English Muffins are $4+ at H-T but half of that at Walmart or Super Target. The only time to buy these at H-T is when H-T has a BOGO.
If H-T only knew how to market, they'd keep a large market share with customers willing to pay more, but not double, for a better experience.
Stopped shopping at HT when Aldi opened. I could not believe how much extra I had been paying. Maybe twice a month I shop at Costco.
HT's prices are just too high.
