Maybe one of the "journalists" picked up the story while having teeth whitened!
All I have to worry about are inflatable elephants during election time, and now someone with 50 small inflatable Godzillas on their lawn. Country club, right...
My guess is that there would not be sufficient exits, sprinklers, etc for 2,000 people. Fire department is usually all over that.
Again, though, I believe parts of this story are missing.
Yeah, you can't run a biz without a license. You can't sell liquor without having a license. You can't serve to under-21's. Then you have to pay taxes on your income from your 'nightclub' proceeds, etc., etc.
I agree, there's a lot more for these people to be worrying about than a "no parties" injunction!
Many of these parties were put on by a local (by way of Miami) promoter that also puts on big DJ shows (think Tiesto and the like). It's possible that alcohol sales for those were covered under some sort of license. ALE is usually pretty quick to shut stuff down, so it would have seemed to be a quicker route to go that through the HOA and courts if that stuff wasn't in order.
What I don't understand is that when I was in school, if someone got a keg and invited 50 or so people, the ALE would show up at least 10-20% of the time. More recently, I remember ALE frequently giving a bar on Hillsborough st warnings for letting their customers wader too far on to the sidewalk. How is it that a house party with this many people and this many noise complaints never led to an ALE bust?
I like how the homeowners lawyer lied on camera, saying there are no parties going on at the house. There's video and photos to prove otherwise. Already playing the "race card". Sad. 60 seconds on Google, and I found ads for the parties, photos of the parties, with a LOT of people there, etc. It's been well advertised....too well advertised to lie on camera saying it doesn't happen. That's one stupid lawyer.
