The NWS is backing off the snow forecast for the triangle (advisory area) in favor of rain overnight and freezing drizzle Sat afternoon and evening. Only minor icing predicted but Sunday AM could be slipppery as the cold air arrives.

As soon as Wake County Schools released the students an hour early, they jinxed it!

Just a bit of rain in North Raleigh currently.

We just had about ten minutes of snow/rain/slush falling from the sky in NW Raleigh. I've learned not to expect a beautiful snow when they say there's a chance, so that I won't be disappointed. And it worked again. It's just a bunch of nothing now.

How unexciting compared to what's happening to our north.

best,
toodie

Ummmmmm, folks? I think I found your snow. It apparently got lost on its way to Raleigh and ended up in my backyard.

We're currently into our fourth hour of snowfall, with no end in sight .....

Oh well looks like the snow is over in Morrisville. It's so funny that I get excited over snow. I hated it in NJ.

^lol i was thinking the same thing. i've been driving around since 4pm, and it's fine out. there's like a little slush on the roads, but my fancy car gadgets made it fine to drive in. (i believe it's a system of gyroscopes and hamsters running on wheels.) and it's still relatively warm out. i could get used to this kind of winter! it's nice to be inside having a beer and some soup in front of the christmas tree, watching netflix, but i'm happy knowing i can actually still go out tomorrow.
