Dang you Tex - no way I can beat that we have ponies here and of course puppies, but I can't have any at my house. So, guess I just dropped in the rankings but hey - they can have a lot of Aunties Glad the one big bite isn't bothering you - that bad boy was bothering me 'cause it was HUGE for itching have you tried, oh dang it what's it called - OH hydrogen peroxide. Thank God or I would have obsessed all night. Anyway, I've put it on bites before when out of my cream and it stopped the itching (and doesn't burn). Just use a q-tip and might take a couple of times, but it's worked on bug bites before.

Lacey the new group sounds great - wish I cooked more but when it's just me . . . used to cook a lot when married/kids but now well too much effort unless I get real energetic and then throw something in the crockpot. I'll have to pop in because I live/eat vicariously through all the yummy meals I see you all are cooking for dinner.

Yea...but you have the beach! Kids love the beach/sand/H2O!!

H2O2...might have to try that on my stings...I have some in my medicine closet. I have calamine lotion on them now and the itch subsides for awhile with that. I spoke too soon...the BIG bite just started itching about 5 minutes ago.

Try it - I only ran out of my cream once (and here the over counter cream is probably what would be considered prescription strength in States), but when that's all I had and was itchin' like all get out so I was desperate, and thought what the heck so tried it - and it worked. Let me know.

Jumped over to Lacey's new thread and my word a lot going on about cooking! Wow! They started talking about fried okra and considering one of my specialities was fried okra, chicken fried steak and mashed potatos, with homemade gravy . . . well might have to chime in. Dang I hate not having anyone to cook for That's my fav meal in the world but just too much trouble for one person.

OMG...guys I feel like a stuck pig I needs to do double duty on the treadmill after that meal. It was really good I already ate my pecan pie. I think I have fallen off the healthy eating train and can't get back up. Back to that proverbial diet tomorrow.

Oooh Tex your meal sounded yummy! Lacey are we qualified to go on the food thread if our cooking was only thrown on the grill from the meat market and the pie came out of a box? Joy sounds like you know your cooking stuff! Are you originally a southern girl? You need to get yourself a date to cook for Joy, but only if you want to. I actually envy you single girls some. Life is you guys playground with no strings attached if you know what I mean LOL.

Dogma I can see what you mean about your yard. (I checked out your new house pix) That would be tough to deal with the dirt considering the dogs. Our dogs do add extra work but we couldn't live without them..or at least I couldn't.

I see you have the nice 6 ft Pvc fence and a nice sized yard. We actually had to put one up ourselves and pay for it (not cheap). We are like the only PVC in the hood. Everyone else has cedar or cheaper woods. We got special permission to do an all enclosed 4 ft with a foot of latice. Usually they only let you do 4 ft with this HOA and usually only picket. Then a couple weeks ago we planted a bunch of evergreens around the outside of our fence. Trying to get that private garden atmosphere. Good luck with your yard work!

Well, then you're just gonna have to make another one LOL

Yeah, I'm actually a real good cook - thing is I don't want a man around now. Pseudo pretty much put me off the whole dating thing for a while but who knows what tomorrow will bring - oh that's right work LOL But yeah, I do miss having people to cook for. And yes was raised in Oklahoma so learned my southern cookin' there, though people from further down south don't consider OK southern so . . . we aren't the midwest so I have no idea where OK fits in other than as a shi#hole.

DM can you put the fence or something else deeper into the ground so no way they can dig under without going a mile deep? I know people who have had to do that 'cause they had diggers.

Hey Joy you should learn to use the multi quote...I know you are more than competent. You just hit the quote button for each person's post you want to quote and it turns orange and then you hit the post one. Now the way you did this I can't directly quote what you said. Just a suggestion

That pie I made was Sara Lee, but I gotta tell you it was damn good and probably cheaper than making my own.

I have heard that about OK..people debating whether it is southern or midwest or something along those lines.

Where is everybody? I guess they have a life

Hey campers, ready for bed...we were busy today, all that freakin cleaning this morning, then this afternoon our friends drove out and we went to have dinner..DP just went to bed and I am not far behind.

Lots of dirt..we will be buildin some kind of retaining garden wall around the perimeter of the yard...then planting in those and some nice queen palms..I want some sod in the yard and a nice shade tree for the doglets..and cement patios for the family room side and our mb side..with covers..don't want much...we can't really start yet anyway if the mobile was to sell tomorrow..too hot to do any digging or major planting..Fall time.

Shelly! Yay you tried the shrimp salad..glad you lked it. Hope your itching is subsiding..heck I would probably try the jack daniels or rum on it just to see if it helped..

Lacey will check out the cooking posts tomorrow, Gold Dust yes we are lucky with the vinyl fencing, everyone in our development has them and they last forever, no upkeep.

Night, campers..
